Hi there,
I've been reminiscing of late and would dearly love to get my hands on two recordings that I know exist.
These are both for the "petition show" of 2004 (Paul solo @ Hifi Bar in Melbourne) and also the show from 2005 @ the Corner Hotel that was dubbed a Paul solo show but Clint and Steph came out and played a blistering set of mostly Desert Lights material.
The latter was kept from us all by the recorders because it was full of unreleased material, as well as some covers that have not been played since.
I'm offering a choice of two DVDs for this: Dempsey solo @ the Northcote Social Club in 2005 or SFK live @ the Great Escape 2006.
Thanks for reading.
p.s. Katy - realising that this should go in "trading", could u possibly leave it here for the greater good? I know a few frequent visitors to the forum recorded these shows

You can find on the ftp all the songs except the ones from Desert light (down the garden path, Cigarettes... and Transparanoïa) Maybe somebody will upload them ...

Sorry, but that was a different show. The band returned from the US for that show for the Corner Hotel birthday celebrations.
The show I'm referring to took place two weeks before they left to begin recording, and was advertised as a Paul solo show but the band played around a half-dozen songs with him.
From memory the new songs played were Transparanoia, Impossible, The Actor Makes His Move and Down the Garden Path. Cigarettes wasn't even written at this point.
More than one person recorded this show.

I'm hoarding nothing. I've been bringing a vid cam to shows for years now and shared them with whomever has asked.
That said, I haven't put any of them on DVD yet. I'm sure it's a simple task and will get around to it, but as of now there are no tangible DVDs to hoard. This could be a catalyst.
Nobody around here will complain about me not circulating shows.

boogs - I can provide the FTP details to my site if you would like to upload it there? Email me @ somethingforkaty@hotmail.com
People won't be able to download via FTP unfortunately (unless someone can tell me how to set it up ala Lau's FTP) however I can provide the links to download the files...

you could just upload to mediafire for anything under 100mb. just do the flacs track by track, maybe do a zip file of the mp3 versions as an alternative too.
no restrictions or wait times, and the links stay available indefinitely. (at least it is for now, and has been that way for years)

Sounds very good.
Open to suggestions as to a cheap way to disseminate a DVD then...

well for lossless you could upload the vob files to filehosting sites, breaking them up into volume zip files if they are (i assume they are) too big in one go. how big are the DVD's? maybe try something like this:
http://freespace.filefront.com
up to 1GB files, no download restrictions or expiry.
then for lossy quick versions you could xvid/divx them and just up the smaller file.
