IRC channel is up and running!

katy and I registered the IRC channel tonight, so if you want to come and join in the phun (or whatever it is) here's the basics to get you there:

1. Go to www.mirc.com/ and download mIRC. Install it, run it.
2. When it starts, it should give you a little box with various options. (If you dont get this box, or you lost it somehow, press the 2nd button from the LEFT in the top toolbar.)
3. In this box, enter in your "Real Name" (yah right!) your "Email" (hahahaha) and pick a nickname. "Alternative" is for if your first choice for a nick is gone, it will automatically change to this.
4. In the second drop-down box, scroll down and select "Random US DALnet server" and then click "Connect to IRC server"
5. Wait until it connects you, it might popup another little window when you are connected, you can just close that one if you don't understand it.
6. Make sure the "Status" window is focused and clickin the text input box at the bottom. Type: "/join #somethingforakte" (without the quotes) and you should join the channel. Hopefully there might be someone ther eto talk to.

This is just the basics to get you into the channel. If you come on after about 9PM AEST I should be in there. (No garauntees I'll be awake) and I'm going away for about the next 4-5 days so I won't be there until i come back.

If you wanna learn more about IRC type: /join #help and ask questions in there about how to use IRC etc. someone will surely help you. Just a caution: DON'T USE ALL CAPS PEOPLE HATE IT

(I didn't really almost jizz, I just had never seen or even thought there would be that many more bootlegs over what I already had)

i dont want to sound whiny, but i will. is there anyway we can encourage people to download nightscript so they can share their files with everyone else? its all well and good for people to go in there and share mp3s, but some people i see in there often, and they are just leeching, and half of them dont even contribute to the conversation or anything. i know i dont have many mp3s to contribute myself, but at least im trying to contribute. sorry, its just pissing me off.

yeah it shits me too.

ill be in there all day and people will come and wont even talk to me even when i try and talk to them, and expect to just leech files off me all day without sharing anything! i mean, i understand that some people dont have anything, but if your getting files thats at least something you can share. that way it stops people like me and catfish having to supply files for, well, everyone!

i dont mind sharing with nice people from the board or gracious people, but some are just plain rude.

i was thinking of stopping people from downloading, or i guess coming to the room that dont want to share files. is that too harsh? what do you all think? let me know!

oh, and by the way if anyone is waiting to get stuff off me im sorry but my download limit has been exceeded and i wont be back on IRC until after February 22nd. I know i could just log on and share files with others but i tried that and i cant stop myself from downloading more stuff!
