Ok, mis amigos, I did some research in the city today and found two suitable karaoke clubs. One was called Cash Box and it’s in Dixon Street. It’s the one I went to a number of years ago. It costs $10 per person to rent a room for a maximum of 3 hours. The other club I found is called Green Box and it’s in Pitt Street behind the McDonalds on George Street. It costs $10 per person as well to rent a room for a maximum of 2 hours. Plus they throw in a free drink. BYO is allowed. I'm sure they have a bar though.
There’s one downside though – the first club closes on Friday at 9 pm and the second one closes on Friday at 8 pm. This could be a problem if we’re meeting to eat at 7:15 pm.
I’m told that there’s some other karaoke clubs in Darling Harbour which I’ll check out tomorrow.
But if we go with one of the first two I might need to book in advance (which I’m willing to do, but lemme know before Friday).
Or failing all of the above, there’s always a short bus trip to the Newtown karaoke bar I guess. We need to hear Steph sing “papa don’t preach” to Justin.
Thoughts?

As I told Steph last night, I had been hoping to duet on "Crusin" with her from the movie Duets - as made famous by Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis playing daughter and father alike. I wouldn't book anything. We have no idea how long we are going to be at BBQ King - and we should also see if we actually feel like Karaoke on the night. We can mosey on wherever the mood takes us after dinner.

I only realised yesterday that this is tomorrow night and not Saturday, so yeah depending on what time I leave work I may be a little late - but I will try to be there on time.
Did anyone decide whether we are byo'ing or not?

Pete, I think it is up to the individual - I for one am going to bring a bottle of wine along which, and I would suggest other wine drinkers do the same - but if you're more likely to have a beer or otherwise (incidentally, people who drink spirits with meals are freaks) you might as well just order at the restuarant, you won't be saving THAT much money.
So, if Pete is going to be a bit late and needs to meet as at the restaurant, that leaves the following people to meet at Town Hall Station.
Justin, Steph, Mark, and Lou around 7.15. Pete, if you're running late, can you send an SMS to one of us (I'm pm'ing you all my mobile in case you don't have it anymore, could you also pm me all of yours?)
Tim was going to perhaps meet up with us later, and we're still to hear back about what Kristy is doing.

Kristy doesn't know what Kristy is doing so Kristy will message someone to maybe meet after if you guys are doing drinks.. provided Kristy isn't stuck at work until 10pm. Kristy thinks Kristy has finally lost the plot....

We can mosey on wherever the mood takes us after dinner. Ok yep. I was speaking to a girl at work today about karaoke places and she gave me the whereabouts for a number of karaoke bars in the city. So even if the private clubs are closed by the time we've finished dinner, then if we feel like it there should be some karaoke bars still open. It'll just be like Lorn's bar.

I went to bed with a sniffle i thought would be gone. It decided to come back 10 fold i thought i'd be ok, but i've been awake for a while now and i'm still not, if anything i'm worse - headache + stuffed nose/ouchie throat yuckieness. It's so unfair in this weather too, not supposed to get sick in summer damnit. so i think i'll have to forego tonight. but i will def. be there for a cockatoo weekend meetup (even if i don't go to the actual concert). sorry take lots of photos and bring back merry stories

To quote the boxer Jeff Fenech, “I love youse all”. It’s a pity you got sick Lou and couldn’t make it. Same with you Kristy and Amy, as it was a good night. However, I can’t wait until that smoking ban in pubs comes into force in NSW as I could’ve done without the second-hand smoke. Cancer isn’t a good thing. My grandfather died painfully from it, and I’m hoping to die peacefully in my sleep in my old age, and I hope all you Katers do too. And Justin, did you need to rob Steph further of her innocence by exposing your arsehole to her and the rest of Chinatown? We’ve all seen goatse.cx but did we really need a live demonstration? Anyway, the meal at BBQ was very nice and thankfully no one was shot in the kneecaps by triad gang members. We had a look at some karaoke places after that but instead decided to do a tour of Sydney’s pubs where at Maloney’s Steph and I defeated Justin and Pete in a game of pool. We ended up finally in McDonalds sometime around 4:00 am I think (I forget exactly) and then we departed for home. I arrived home at dawn. We’ll have to do another kater bonding session again soon. I was thinking on the bus home that none of this has happened by chance and that we’ve all come into each other’s lives for a reason, and I feel honoured to have been given the good fortune to have been able get to know you all. PS: I left my USB cable at work so I’ll put the photos up tomorrow night.

Please feel free to leave out any incriminating photos. Don't worry Steph. Already planning to leave out a number of incriminating photos. You're safe.

Mark, there was so much more to the night than just me exposing my naked arse to the group, I felt that also I stripped back the onion skin to reveal the real me to the group at large, and I am confident that you can all now say you truly know me. Don't worry Steph. Already planning to leave out a number of incriminating photos. You're safe. Like what? I thought you missed the one of my fleshy bare cakehole? If you're talking about the one of me sitting on Pete's lap, just feel free to PM that to me. It's going straight to the pool room.
