because i love bootlegs - its the next best thing to being there. and although time consuming downloading is a much cheaper way to have access to lots of them. especially ones by bands i don't have any by, and probably couldn't get in a trade.

We are looking to take out a mortgage very soon. Any sensible advice? Sure. Make use of your first home buyers grant, and the exemption that is also available from stamp duty - this makes up about $10k and many financial institutions will actually accept this as a deposit.

Advice: Don't use Aussie Home Loans, i worked for them and still do in a minor capacity and they are totally inept and pricey to boot. Everyday we had upset customers ringing up in tears because we hadn't done the things we had promised. I think the best thing to do right now is as Sharky said and make sure you shop around with the banks, make sure you get them to show all the fees they are gonna charge and don't be afraid to ask what they are for and why they are charging you, tell em that you don't wanna pay the establishment fee. Also they will do a credit history check, so if you have any dodgy credit cards or unpaid mobile phone bills from a while back which you just ignored, you will want to take care of these otherwise they will tell you to go away.
Always keep in mind that you are not doing the bank any favours by going with them, they sometimes try and make you feel that you should feel privileged to be with them, it should really be the other way round. Essentially those who work in the finance industry are upthemselves tossers, sometimes you meet good people but you never know.
Also the best thing to do would be to go out and buy one of those books from those housewife investors that Mike Munro loves to feature on ACA, they are usually pretty helpful.

Everyday we had upset customers ringing up in tears because we hadn't done the things we had promised. But but but, the man on the tv said things'd be okay, no need to panic, no need to panic. He also said, "at aussie, we'll save you". He even smiled and embarrsingly said the same thing to Bill Clinton.
