This has proably been done before but who are the other bands that you love and why?
Mine would be:
You Am I - Easily one of Australia's most rockin bands, they have an amzing live show where its not about aggression but just rockin out and having a good time.
Elliot Smith - Brilliant songwriter, writes simple yet beautiful and tragic songs. You listen to him and think he could break at any moment.
Coldplay - One of the classiest bands ever.

Pearl Jam, The John Butler Trio, Smashing Pumpkins,(early) Everclear, and just recently, Tori Amos.
I'm not gonna try and say why I love them all, there are many reasons for each.

I also like Pollyanna (who I've just heard are no more), and Whitlams, Rebecca's Empire (RIP), Faith No More, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and the Whitlams.
Powderfinger can suck my saveloy.

I also like Pollyanna (who I've just heard are no more) noooooooooooooo  well...mine would be Jebediah, Tori Amos, Pollyanna, Skulker, Gyroscope and Motorace. |

The demise of Pollyanna is to do with 2 things - Rayke lives in the US now and is about to pop her first child out, and Matt is sick of teaching new drummers old Pollyanna songs - they've had 5 drummers now....... |

fiona apple - emotion with beauty blur - originally britpop but now enhanced creativity the corrs - were good when they were irish, now theyre too poppy radiohead - just plain cool rem - worthy of a mention  |

Michael Jackson - I don't care that he's a freak. He's a brilliant musician.
Tori Amos - I've only started to get into her music , but I like what I'm hearing so far. Some of her obsessive fans sorta freak me out though.
Jewel - I like her honest approach to song writing.
Alanis Morissette - I've loved her music since Jagged Little Pill. I never thought she was the angry white female (as was claimed). She's just telling it like it is.
Portishead - Amazing stuff! They've only made two albums but both have been incredible. Portishead really made me rethink my stance on electronic music.
Massive Attack - As above with Portishead. I love how they're not afraid to experiment.
Radiohead - As above.
REM - I see SFK being like REM in 20 years time. Churning out fantastic albums and trying different things. Michael Stipe is a great singer/songwriter who's written some real classic songs.
That's not the only ones, but, it's some.
