My friends say the very same thing... Like I'll come to school and when they see me they'll say something like "Watch out, Jess is in a shitty mood today!" When I'm not, they just get the impression that I am. I don't get it though, I'm generally a fairly happy person, just people always get the impression that I'm not. So I share your pain.

alas, i have the same problem. i acquired the nickname 'grumpy bear' when i was 11 from my swimming coach at the time because of it. sadly, that horrible nickname has stuck, and now i just get shitty when people call me it.

Fuck yes, I get this ALL the time. I don't talk much, (well...if you ask me, I talk enough-it's just that certain other people just talk too much!) and don't smile or laugh unless theres something to smile or laugh about, and voila!-I must be on the brink of suicide. On the bus on the way to and from school, people have these labels for the different people on the bus, Like "Red haired chick with the green and yellow folder." and stuff like that. I recently heard someone talking about me, and they called me the "depressed chick with the blue walkman." ( I spose I could have copped a worse nickname...) but yeah, it really annoys me! Especially when perfect strangers come up to you in the street and tell me to smile. Fuck off-how do they know what type of day you've been having, they don't have to come stuck their noses in. Gah. *end of rant.*

Well aren't we a depressing bunch. I can relate though. When I was working in customer disservice, another employee came up to me once and she told me I should smile. "Hellllooo" I thought, "I hate my job, what do I have to smile about huh?" However, during school, I used to laugh at almost everything, even things that weren't funny. I guess I've got more mellow since then.
