I was watching the original Ocean's Eleven last night (the new one is better). Anyway Dean Martin is in it... it got me thinking, why is the song called Dean Martin? And furthermore, why is the Gorillaz song called Clint Eastwood?

yeah, didnt u know he was in it? i havent seen the movie but i read about it in the tv guide.
i dont think sfk had any real motive behind the name Dean Martin. maybe they liked the name ? i dont think they wouldve called it something like I need More Time or something? any sfk are cool with song titles i reckon eg. ( soundczech, anarchitect, dean martin, subject to change )
secodnly, damon didnt have a motive behind clint eastwood really. in blurb, the official blur magazine, it had a look @ gorillaz at the end of 2000, pre release days. he didnt mention any reasons for naming it clint eastwood.

clint eastwood - 1 ssuggestion from a friend was that the start of the song is a corruption of a clint eastwood western - the good, the bad and the ugly? not sure....
dean martin - my impression is that is refers to an arguement, and one person is as cool as dean martin, and just says "chill, its alright"
either that or its about paul & clint trying martinis for the first time (a dean martin special) - one of them likes them ("its alright") but the other thinks the swizzle stick is too small (" a bigger [swizzle] stick for harsher contact"). Yeah, that must be it.

the sky is blue due to dust in the atmosphere and the diffraction of light

I'm only new here but already I can sense heartspark does indeed have a karmic channel to PD's psyche! Is this an astral connection? I wonder what the colour PD's aura may be...(I sense blue tending to red).
Is the string topological and does it have n-dimensions? (We all know PD is bored with 3-D and am I sick of 4-D).
Maybe Dean Martin really is about the swizzle stick.

i even dreamed about him last night. paul, someone else (im thinking deane maybe), a whole bunch of people, and i were eating together around a huge table after he had just performed, and i kept talking to him and asking him lots of questions. i think i was pissing him off a bit, and he just loved the other person (deanie?) that i was with. hmm. i cant remember anything else.
my first paul-related dream ever. im so proud. even if it didnt turn out so nice. and im seeing him on sunday. YAY!!!!!!! ;D

To spongeboy - the string in question is rhetorical, as in other ponderous Q;s such as: what is the sound of one hand clapping? (PD may know this being a muso and all). Also, the extra dimension isn't about the third eye but time. To Heartspark - take it easy girl, you might do yourself a serious injury! (especially if you sleep walk)  |

The question of strings and n-dimensions is by no means irrelevant to fathoming PD's pysche! In fact I know it provides a key in at some level... why?, why?, why?.....  |

well if u figure out all that 4D stuff then u would have something to ask paul about, or u could just talk to him on his level
but if u can get ur head around any of the other dimensions ur doing well
though i don't think time has anything to do with the 4th dimension
and in the 3 - dimensions clip they tried to simulate what the 4th dimension would look like to us viewing it from our 3 dimensional world, when their heads go all blurry , and they disappear etc
oh well that's my theory

Something for Kates older song titles were pointless and irrelevent to the actual song.......I think I read somewhere that Dempsey was watching a Dean Martin show when he wrote the song!
