i like sounding like i know what im talking about, so maybe if i say every song in the list will make number one i can say "told you so!" and really mean it this time. or i could just stick with the prediction that something for kate will get number 1 with monsters and deny it if it doesnt happen. though i do believe it will. im hoping so anyway. er, that was pointless.

I think eskimo joe will split their vote - i'd vote for sydney song or wake up (note to others - buy girl if you haven't already)

moterace deserve to do well (i've only just got the album ($12!!), and am loving it)

monsters at #1. Its been out for quite a while now, but people as still digging it, saying its an awesome song. It will have to fight against chop suey, bleed american, dust me selecta, say what and to a lesser extent, smooth criminal (which i believe has suffered from the pretty fly syndrome - ie people are starting to get sick of it, and hold back their vote, in case by australia day its just too annoying)

My outside tips (none of these will make no. 1, but deserve to make top 25ish)
underdog - turin brakes (someone on the forum recommended these guys, and they are pretty good, the lp is nice and chilled)
rosability - idlewild

first couple of listens underdog and door stand out, but after a few listens the other songs catch up....
