Very good advice!!! Also, dont try and jump in the deep end straight away. Start with something is really easy and practice till you master it, then move onto something a little harder, then master that. Starting in the deepend gets you very discouraged. I have been playing for about 8 years and my guitar teaching still gives me the same advice. keep at it!!

Hi Ray,
Could you post a pic of that label, or the whole guitar?
The EBG808 from memory has SOUNDBOARD: Solid AA Grade Sitka Spruce BACK & SIDES: Solid Blackwood or Solid Queensland Maple NECK: Queensland Maple FINGERBOARD: Rosewood with Dot inlays BRIDGE: Rosewood HEADSTOCK: Blackwood Keyhole BINDING: Ivory or Blackwood outer binding, Quadruple inner binding ROSETTE: Herringbone FINISH: Satin Nitro Cellulose MACHINE HEADS: Chrome Grover Rotomatic PICKUP: AP5
Thats how i remember them coming out as standard. I havent heard of the Em808, but id suggest that it is the same as a EBG808 if your guitar has the same stats as i listed above.
Does your guitar have Solid back and sides, otr lamenated? that'd be a good start. Hope that helps a little!
Ollie.

Good idea, post a pic mate. I am no Maton buff but I would assume that your particular guitar has the 808 shape with custom options. If you can find out the types of wood ect used it would be a good start. The other thing coud be that it has the body shape of an 808 but a diferent scale length........possibly the same as the em series. You might want to ask the question at the maton forum at www.maton.com.au
