I get chills everytime I play my live @ the enmore tape and hear that solo, no freakin joke I love it so much. So it pains me to have the knowledge that every blink 182 song has 10 tabbed versions of it, but this amazing fragment of music hasn't even had a single attempt.
I suck at tabbing (even with the visual aid), so can someone please try their hand at some of it? It dosen't have to be perfect, anything will be cool.
Please?

Gday, i know Jurds has this solo pretty much down pat (along with the majority of something for kate songs ever released) im sure given a few days he would be able to tab it out for you....
Damn people like him with a good musical ear!!

Hey dudes,
Sorry been very busy of late. Hopefully will get a bit of time over the weekend to tab it. I could probably do most of it now but couldnt guarentee accuracy of the fret numbers (or tab really for that matter)
Pretty simple solo all in all..........sounds great though

Yep, thats me..........uh oh, what have i done? Changed my name a while ago....... BTW Katy, how is the speed twin going? What are your thoughts? ;D allo! You haven't done anything, I was just going to comment that I love your tabs. They are always really accurate ... and I can see why they are asking you to tab this for them now. Always very thankful when you would send another one in the for the site As for the Speed Twin I love it. It's been quite an adjustment going from a JCM 800 to this ... a steep learning curve, but it has an awful lot of versatility - I can't see myself ever needing or wanting another amp! The tone is sweeeet. I haven't had a chance to play a gig with it yet but hopefully soon. Funny you ask though, I'm actually having trouble with the settings. My brother thought he would have 'a look' and decided to start flicking all the switches and settings on the back (and front). Now it sounds like all the guts has been sucked out of it, and I can't seem to fix it. I was pretty pissed off because I had it set up perfectly. I'd been avoiding the settings on the back as I had no idea what they did, and it was sounding sweet with the settings it was already on (on the back). I tried to find a user manual on the net but as yet have had no luck? I know the pentode/triode thing is probably watts but as to which setting is 50 and 100 I don't know. I guess I will just have to keep playing around with it.

Ta for that. Just a result of sitting in my room from a young age teaching myself to play the songs I loved! Good to hear it is going well! I have the 100 watt combo version and love it. Your right about the versatility too.......you can play anything from super sparkly clean to metallica and still have distortion to spare. I can’t see myself getting rid of it anytime soon........ Here is a link to the operator’s manual! www.britishaudioservice.com/inst/SPTW.PDFRegarding the sound, I am not too sure what the features of your particular amp are (I know the older ones were without MIDI capabilities amongst other things) however, you should have what is called an "output damping" control which will drastically affect the sound when being used on the second channel only! What it does in basic terms is either loosen or tighten up the bottom end. I have a feeling that your Bro may have turned it all the way to the left meaning that it tightens up the bottom end, basically making the tone thinner and flatter. Try turning it to halfway or all the way and there will be a huge difference…….much fatter Another reason may be (but less likely) that he has played around with the power switches. This doesn’t have as drastic an effect as the output damping but certainly an effect none the less. The manual I have attached will explain this better but basically you have the option of switching between 25, 50, 75 and 100 watts. While the volume won’t alter that much the way the amp reacts does. The amp will distort quicker at lower volumes at 25 watts and personally I don’t think it sounds anywhere near as good. I like to run mine at 100 watts all the time……..to me the tone is sweeter and more defined. I think they are the only 2 things on the rear that would alter the sound like you mentioned. Hope this helps! I guess that’s the downside to having a versatile amp, too many switches! Some times I wish I had something like a JCM 800….just plug it in and away you go! Also, I had Sovtek el34’s in their to begin with (they eventually blew) and replaced them with electro harmonix el34’s. Man, what a difference………I never new how much of a difference different brands of valves could make! Of course, all up to personal preference though! Back on topic, I have tabbed what I know of the solo but I opened my big mouth earlier saying that it was easy…..there are a couple of bits that I cant seem to get my fingers around and are giving me the s*#ts……..most of it is done though. At work atm so cant post but will do when I am home. Cheers, Jarrod

Do you have the tape of them playing at the enmore? It shows where his hands are quite explicitly...

Kaplan Solo
e---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- b----------------------------------------------------3----------5-----------8-------------10------------------15-\-12-- g--0--2--0--2--0--2--0--2--2--0--2-/-4------4-/-6-------6-/-9-------9-/-11--------11-/-14--14------------- d---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a-- e--
e--------------------------------------------- b---------------12------12---------12----- g--14-bend------14--------14----------- d--------------------------------------------- a--------------------------------------------- e--------------------------------------------
e-------------------------------------------------------------15---12---12--12--12-- b--------------------------------------------------12--13--13---13---12--12--12-- g---14-bend-pull-off---12--------12--14-------------12---12---12--14--12-- d------------------------------------14----------------------------------------------14-- a-- e--
e--15--14--12-- b--15--15--13-- g--12--14--12-- d------------------- a------------------- e-------------------
Then more of the same of the end bit of the first line. The solo basically stays within the pentatonic range between frets 12 and 15. Basic noodling Around there should get you in the ball park. I will try to make it a little more comprehensive later but there are different versions so this is ok for now i think.
Sorry if it looks messy, I had to modify it to post it properly.
Please feel free to tell me where i stuffed it up.
Cheers,
Jarrod

It has come out of line. Will have to fix later tonight or tomorrow.
I think the top two bits are ok though.
