Just thought I'd express my appreciation of them.
I just bought Gala Mill, and it is head and shoulders above Wait Long.. i reckon. Jezebel has to be their best song, or at least equal with I Walked Across The Dam.
Any other Drones fans out there? They're pretty popular, so there should be.. If you haven't heard much of them and would like to, let me know and I shall email ye something : )
Maybe i'll go see Jamie Hutchings this saturday..

Oh, and if you're wondering what Gala Mill sounds like, it gets a fair bit of inspiration from Neil Young & Crazy Horse, which can only be a good thing.

Ive got wait long by the river. sharkfin blues is of course pretty awsome. i heard an acoustic version on digg tv a while back which really stunned me. the rest of it is not as great as i expected seeming how it won a bunch of awards or whatever.
and id totally see jamie hutchings if i could...

Yeah, I reckon Shark Fin Blues is possibly the greatest song ever written by any mammal.
I'll get a few songs to you soon Kirsty : )

Yeah, I reckon Shark Fin Blues is possibly the greatest song ever written by any mammal. Thats a pretty hefty recommendation from a man who has also described Hitchiking in New Zealand as a best song ever. Maybe I should pick up that album...

OK fine, you win! Hitchhiking In New Zealand IS the greatest song on the face of the planet, but Shark Fin Blues is up there!
Don't bother with Wait Long equalheights, not for the first album anyway. Gala Mill is infinitely better on the whole, much more diverse. However, the pure raw fury that is Here Come The Lies is up there on my list of fave Australian albums. THAT one takes a bit of getting into, it truly is an ear-bleeder.
I'm happy to send you a couple of songs equalheights, if you'd like..

I've been started listening to The Drones after hearing The Minotaur on triple J quite a lot - and in anticipation to Falls Festival.
Havilah is very addictive!
I had the pleasure of seeing The Drones for the first time monday night at The AIR Awards down in Melbourne. The Drones preformed a few songs with Martha Wainwright! It was bloody brilliant!
