You're right - that's what I meant to write to an extent. I looked up the phrase and some people were using both versions. I think it's still "She uses every trick in sleight of hand" but I dunno..

No ones picked this up...'Cigarettes'-> I'm pretty sure it's 'sailer' not 'silver', but i could be wrong...

I was pretty sure it was referring to "silver screen"

Yeah.. definitely silver. You have to hear the "fff" sounding of the v - 'cause it's there!

You owe me again, Ollie!
The Amazing Machine That Does Not Work
Somewhere we'll meet, some bluestone back street Some black and white scene Just you and me, and the amazing machine that does not work
(I'm not sure about this next verse - but it's what I'm hearing kinda) In separate lives, the gentle home of post war For you and I, we're happy here inside (or "in the sun")
I followed you around, I followed you around inside my head I packed up my bags and I'll pack them again
We know this this place, yeah, we've been here before You'll find our names; they're scratched into the wall We'll be the last ones out of the door We could smell fire but we didn't shout We're down with the ship, and we're over and out Singing along with the countdown
A big mistake to talk like there's no tomorrow, then it came We hope sometimes, when hopes aren't so heavy then, the bird can fly We'll see again
I wanted to show her all of the disorder I wanted to take her hand and stagger towards it
We know this place, yeah, we've seen it before Look at our names, they're scratched into the wall We were the last ones out of the door We could smell fire but we didn't shout We're down with the ship, we're over and out Singing along with the countdown
Yeah we're singing along
You and me, we were as thick as thieves We were trying to steal the same thing

Ask and you shall receive:
--------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- Title: Airport Kid --------------------------------------- --------------------------------------- Artist: Something For Kate Album: Oh, Kamikaze (Single) ---------------------------------------
Yellow taxi cabs, take me there and back. But I can't hardly tell where I've been or where I'm at. The waiting room scene, is airport blue and green. Magnifying glass in front of everything I see.
The kid has found some wheels, wants to make a deal. A thousand years ago, I still remember how it feels. Echoes down the hall, through a revolving door and it's, gone.
Sun rise, to the sound of a bell. Sometimes, you remember yourself. Past life, mabye somebody else.
Numbers flashing by, empty plastic cups, and all the smiling faces of another job well done. I'm waiting 'til the name, on my call-out fades, 'til the money said what the money had to say.
Kid has got a game, it's asking me to play.
Sun rise, to the sound of a bell. Sometimes, you remember yourself. Past life, maybe somebody else. Blue line, as we drop through the clouds. Sleepless, when the wheels touch the ground. I lost you, when I turned my head.
Yellow taxi cabs. Take me there and back. But I can hardly tell where I'm at, at.
Yellow taxi cabs. Take me there and back. Yellow taxi cabs.
Do do do, do do.....
---------------------------------------
Feel free to comment/help with anything. One thing I'm not sure about is "I'm waiting 'til the name, on my call-out fades"; more specifically the word "call-out". Enjoy!

thanks for typing the lyrics ... I couldn't find out what he was saying early in the song ... "The waiting room scene, is airport blue and green" ... so thanks for clarifying that for me.
I only have two suggestions maybe ... I think there's no "a" when he says "through revolving door and it's gone" ... and for the thing you're not sure "call-out fades" ... could it be "call of fades"? well, it's just what I hear ... and forgive me if my ear is not as good as yours guys coz' I'm not Aussie
laters, and thanks again for these lyrics. -david-

I agree with the lack of "a" before revolving doors.
I'm quite sure it's call-out now - think about it in context of the song and it makes sense. Your "call-out" is on the screen telling you when your flight is. Not 100% sure about why you'd wait 'til it fades but I think that's just 'cause I haven't been to enough airports lol.
