I like her music but she's quite mad. The unedited interview with her in The J-Files compendium book exemplifies this. It's really interesting as it the interview progresses and you can see Richard Kingsmill completely losing control where she's asking him what his favourite ice cream sundae is and talking about how much cellulite is on her body. Um, yup. I feel your pain Richard. Her obsessive fans are the same. (not meaning you Darkshines).
On edit: Just in case anyone thinks I'm referring to a *certain* someone. I'm not. Just meant in general. When it comes to Tori fans, the fanatically obsessed ones are..... call the men in white uniforms.

Nah, that's a ghost of the past as far as I'm concerned, but I thought I should add the disclaimer in case people assumed I was referring specifically to her when I wasn't. In actuality, I was referring more to sites like this: www.alltheseyears.net/ which seems to take fan admiration to an obsessive degree. I suppose I'll sound mean knocking a site that's about sexual abuse victims but it's the way the site puts Tori Amos on a pedestal as the mother of sexual abuse victims is what bugs me. Relate to her lyrics yes, but don't make her out to be a goddess. btw, did you ever end up getting scarlet's walk? Not yet. I want to though as I've heard good things about it. I had a job interview today so if that turns out to be successful I'll get the CD.  |
