The soundczech board currently has a thread "Right Now I'm Enjoying" and this is along the same lines got any new bands (or old) that you're listening to at the moment? write em down  The tread on soundczech was quite useful to me, i was able to get a few new cds from bands i probably wouldn't have found otherwise |

I was in Sydney for the weekend for a bit of a pissup and on saturday spent most of the day looking in all the record stores. And one i listened to but didn't buy cos i was trying to make sure i had enough for a big drinking session, was the Reindeer Section - Son of Evil Reindeer. It sounds absolutely brilliant, and it is a collaboration between a few scotish bands like Alpine Stars, Mogwai, Arap Strap, Belle and Sebastian, Idlewild and a whole bunch of others. From what i heard each song is a bit influenced by the different bands that are on it, one you might have heard was You Are My Joy, which just absolutely bursts through the headphones i was listening to it on.
Also been listening to a bit of Ben Kweller, who is a bit like Ben Folds/early Elton John. Though he is no substitute for Ben Folds Five, if you haven't already, get Whatever and Ever Amen.

i love that board too, actually. as mentioned there, i've been getting into the new foo's album of late. it's really good, a vast improvement on 'there is nothing left to lose' in my humble opinion. also the new sigur ros album (thanks di  ) which i'm still trying to get my head around, but i really like it. i also have been listening to the doves heaps lately. they're work is amazing, and i can't leave it alone. especially 'the last broadcast', their latest album. the uk produces some good shit. ;D |

Currently taking a fancy to my room. It has become the place to be for me now. So peaceful and no one enters but me...and my mum who cleans when I am not in there.
Also taking a fancy to music festivals, daylight savings and summer (which is slowly approaching)...

i've been playing the doves other album, lost souls, to death. a total of 5 straight hours and counting. ha.
i also like the new winamp. version 3.0 i do believe. it's more modern, and you can change it's colours and stuff. though it doesn't seem to want to acknowledge what cd i'm playing - like the names wont come up and stuff half the time, even though it's recognised the cd. boo. still, it's pretty. i can't find a skin i want though. :/
getting up at midday. i love it. i can't help it when i go to bed at 5 though. it's kind of getting annoying in a way (especially considering i'm under-stating the time - it's more like 2), but that appears to be my sleeping pattern.
getting paid! i love money. go the greed. even if my job is a bit yeuch, it's nice to see my bank balance go up and up, and i now have an excuse to spend more and more. i especially like getting paid $11.50 an hour to watch videos and fill in stupid questions like: why did janey get fired after stealing $20 from bi-lo?

yeah use the thread for whatever you want...they always turn into something way off topic anyway i've been listening to a lot of White Stripes and Bluebottle Kiss. did anyone hear j-files on Bluebottle Kiss last night? i heard about 5 mins of it..they said something about Jamie Hutchings (the singer) bringing out a solo album with a lot of his family playing on it (*goes off to bluebottlekiss.com*)...it's called "the golden coach" and was out nov 4, has 8 songs on it (i havn't got it yet but i heard one of the songs on it last night and it sounds like the bands stuff, so i reckon it shall be good  also just had a newly found interest in Bif Naked, she's a pretty cool canadian chick those interested in Buffy (ie Mark hehe) may have seen her and band playing in the bronze in earlier seasons. i think 'i died' and 'lucky' were played on buffy. 'i afraid of brintney spears' is good, and 'twitch' is one of my favs. hmm who else... guano apes are a band from germany i like too if you wanted to check em out try 'open you eyes', 'big in japan', 'no speech' |
