eek this is all so one sided.
i don't think there should be any conditions imposed on 4wd drivers. I mean from a safety concern as Deane said there are so many things that could kill you or crush you like a bug. If people were generally interested in their safety and the safety of others then we would all be driving 10km under the speed limit. Everyone thinks its ok to go 10km over, but its a freakin LIMIT people. Talking of bad drivers, the worst drivers are all those morons with street cars, wrx's and lancers or whatever the fark they are.
Rant Over
Imposing limits on some drivers will never happen, from a public policy perspective the government would never dare doing such a thing. It would be political suicide. And if it came from a lib or nat they would be absolutely nuts, it would royally piss of their electorate.

i don't have anything against 4WDs but i dont drive so i guess i wouldn't! but i really disagree with bullbars being banned, my parents have one and i can assure you they did not get it so that they could drive recklessly, they got it because they do alot of night time/ early morning country travel and since they have had it they have hit 2 kanagroos, not because they were being careless because they had it, anyway the first one they hit would have gone through the windscreen had they not had a bullbar.

yes, bull bars for that reason are good, it saves the lives of those in the car which is always a good thing ;D
but not so good for only city driving...
but then i suppose on the other hand you could say that some little cars are dangerous for the people inside them...meh, i don't know
