Do you think John Howard has something to do with U.F.O's? Maybe he has an anal probe and it controls him?

getting back to the topic at hand... working in a male dominated industry all I can say is that a lot feminism is over-rated. That said, the boy's club mentality is definitely out there and the hurdles for women to cross to be seen as equally competent are harder. Women have to work harder to simply be seen as equals. That's a reality. I've faced the discrimanation subtle or otherwise on the basis of my sex. In theory there should be no need for afirmative action but sometimes it is necessary to have these intiatives kick start the cultural changes required so that at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you are pink with purple polka dots - you get the job because you are the best candidate. Younger men get it i think so the future bears well, but unfortunately there are still plenty of old farts like John Howard around who are still pulling strings... Changes must come from men and women. and no i'm not gunna apologise for the shit spelling and grammer BTW...

something my mother once told me:
"the most discrimated person in the world is a middle aged (well, 21-40) white heterosexual male"

I agree with dirtgirl that alot of younger males get it and that we just have to get rid of the likes of Johnny. But i strongly disagree with what your mother said Deane, with all respect, and i in no way think women are the most discriminated against either. But do you seriously believe that hetrosexual males are more discriminated against than, say homosexual males? Just one example my homosexual friend was told he was not welcome to continue in his job if he was bi, you can imagine how happy his supervisor was when he told her he was homosexual and i have plenty more of these type stories. And i think saying that white males are the most discriminated is like denying the fact that racism exists, which i know a lot of people do. But i think it's best we agree to disagree.
