I used to really like the show but it was so long ago that it was on telly that i can't remember everything that had just happened before the series ended - which made this episode annoying and confusing. That new character, Joey's room-mate [the one who looks like a horse] really annoys the hell out of me. I also see that Joey is still doing that trademark annoying thing where she bites the corner of her lip at the end of every sentence. Grrrrrr And don't even get me started on Dawson's hair. Man he sucks. In summary i don't think I will bother watching this series - I have however just started watching Secret Life of Us which i'm finding pretty enjoyable ;D ;D ;D

Hmm, Dawson's Creek -"You actually watch that crap?" - said by James Vandawhatshisname (Dawson) in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. ;D

Heh. I saw that one coming. ;D Okay.. you asked, heh *grin*... Buffy and Angel are simply incredible television shows. Buffy is a coming of age story about growing up and having to face the monsters you come across in life. When Buffy battles the monsters on the show, it's a metaphor for having to face internal monsters as part of life (like the SFK song). The show turns the traditional notions of the horror genre on its head. In most horror stories, you have the young blonde girl running down an alley screaming and helpless, trying to get away from the horrible monster. The monster then kills her. Instead, in Buffy you have the pretty blonde girl turn back around and kick the monster's arse into oblivion while responding with a witty quip. She maintains her femininity yet also is self-empowered to take control of her life. When I first saw Buffy I passed it off as some lame Xena fantasy tripe, but when I allowed myself to watch I realised how brilliant it was. The ending of season 2 is one that the Greek tragedy writers of ancient times would have been proud of. Angel is similar but instead of being about growing up, it's about someone who has already grown up and has made many errors or misjudgements in his life. His life of debauchery and hate turned him into a soulless vampire (a metaphor for someone that has become so evil and hateful that they've lost their soul to their vices). However Angel, in a twist, has his soul restored by gypsies, but is forced to keep the immortal vampire curse. As part of the gypsies spell, if he ever experiences true happiness he will lose his soul again. Thus Angel while trying to redeem himself and atone for his sins can never experience true love. It's a beautiful tragedy, and for a fantasy show it's so real. Sometimes you can't undo what you've done wrong, as much as you wish you could. Boths shows are a lot deeper than they may appear on the surface. There's many incredible literary references and allusions running beneath the surface. Also, the writing and acting is often brilliant. So erm... yes, Dawson's Creek? What is it exactly?

I used to love Dawsons Creek. I watched it every night, and if I was going out somewhere, I'd be sure to tape it. THERE! I said it! But after the second series, it went downhill FAST. The main writer guy left and it all just turned to shit. I mean, it was always cheesy and angsty but c'mon...theres only so much a person can take! I read an episode guide on this seasons episodes, and one of the descriptions turned me off COMPLETELY. I vowed then and there to never watch it ever again. I don't remember exactly what happens, but basically, Joey gets mugged, but then somehow, makes friends with the mugger. Then-the mugger gets hit by a car, and Joey goes with him to hospital, where they have a deep and meaningful, and by hearing each others experiences they are each able to each learn more about their lives, or some American cliched bullshit like that. Then, they start singing some ballad together, and then when they've just finished singing, the mugger dies, with Joey beside him. How lame! I think I'll stick to quality programming...like Neighbours.

well done for discovering 'secret life..' katy, but shame on you for bagging 'buffy'and ángel'. honestly, they're brilliant shows, and though it might take a while to get into them, it's well worth it - just ask my 51 year old father! ;D

James Van Der Beek has all the screen prescence of a lump of coal.
But bring on Katie Holmes. Baby you can light my fire.

the dawsons ensomble are some of the best forhead actors around. they can act using only their forheads, forsaking over more primal, more convincing forms of acting.
Anyone else get the feeling that in 70 years time, Dawsons Creek will still be going and be dealing with a summer coming of age romance taking place in a retirement village by a mellow creek.....

I for one am staggered that Dawson actually lost his virginity - I assume he'd be limited to holding personal video nights with salacious porn in his bedroom forever.
