*tries to think of the most inflammatory comment he can.........*
Kelly Osbourne is a filthy morally abiguous slut who advocates teenage pregnancy. TEENAGE PREGNANCY - GOSH, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?

maybe you should start a dead Iraqi baby thread if that thing seems to stimulate your mind.
I can only speak for myself, but I think there is very little to say on the subject of war that hasn't been already mentioned by far more introspective people.

"Kelly Osborn rides to commercial success in the music industry on the back of a television show that exists only as a result of her drugged-up father's music career. Skulker ride to a level of success through hard work and through studying their profession." It's laughable that you would compare the success of a band like Black Sabbath with Skulker. And yes, she is only famous because she is his daughter, and no she can't help that. Does that mean she can't be in the limelight because he father is? "Skulker can play their own instruments(!)" Gee it depends how you define 'playing' "Kelly Osborn called Natalie Imbruglia without provocation a meow meow. Skulker however according to all reports are apparently pleasant and friendly." Since you know neither personally and that story was probably in the likes of a tabloid you can't really say what either is like. I'm sure they are both pleasant and friendly at some point to their fans. "Skulker like Something for Kate have covered a Midnight Oil song. "Forgotten Years" in Skulker's case. Kelly Osborn however, covers a Madonna song "Papa Don't Preach". Not even a good Madonna song at that, and she releases it as a single. Can anyone say the words, "Alien Ant Farm"?" "integrity? She did a shitty cover - OF A SHITTY MADONNA SONG!" Well you have to realise that they were making a tribute album for Ozzy Osbourne. They were picking a song for her older sister to sing and i guess they thought it was funny [which is it] cause she is singing it for her dad. Kelly was only put up to do it because the eldest sister [who is a trainer singer] didn't want to. Kelly didn't actively try to milk her fathers fame to get a music career. One came out of the Madonna single that she released. Integrity is being true to yourself, not caring about being fat and speaking your mind which often gets women called bitches. I wouldn't call dressing up like a maid [lots of mens fantasy] in my cd having integrity. What you think of Steph is she put photos of herself like that in an sfk CD?

Meow. Firstly I wasn't comparing Black Sabbath to Skulker, I was comparing Kelly Osborn to Skulker. I'm a little surprised actually Katy. As a musician yourself I'd have thought you'd have more respect for those who've had to work hard for success rather than those born into it. Integrity is being true to yourself, not caring about being fat and speaking your mind which often gets women called bitches. Okay, firstly, obesity isn't something to be proud of or promoted. Australia and America have one of the highest rates of obesity in the world, something which leads to heart attacks and other medical problems. Secondly, when did this become a womyn thing? Her gender is irrelevant here. She's just a heavier version of Avril Lavigne with a famous father. I wouldn't call dressing up like a maid [lots of mens fantasy] in my cd having integrity. Hey if that's what they wanted to do then why not? And it's not an attempt to increase sales of the album to men. It's within the album booklet, and not on the front cover. I didn't buy the album on the basis of the french maid photo shoot. I bought the album on the basis of the music. They can wear whatever they want for all I care as long as the music is good. What you think of Steph is she put photos of herself like that in an sfk CD? I'd say, as long as the music is still good, then whatever you want Steph.

I must have misread what you wrote cause i was under the impression you were bagging out ozzy, sorry "I'm a little surprised actually Katy. As a musician yourself I'd have thought you'd have more respect for those who've had to work hard for success rather than those born into it." Well by saying that you are assuming that i think they are talented. Which indeed i don't think they are. Sorry and i know you disagree with this, but i think they can't play for shit. I mean, they have identical guitars+amps+setups how stupid is that? I think the songs they write and boring, predictable and overdone. And i think they play up the fact they are a girl band to sell cds. "Okay, firstly, obesity isn't something to be proud of or promoted. Australia and America have one of the highest rates of obesity in the world, something which leads to heart attacks and other medical problems." !!!!!!! Kelly isn't obese... she is a size 16! Which happens to be the average size of women!!!! I can understand if she was as fat as that lady on drew carey but she's not! She would be about the same size as the girl in skulker who is a bit heavier in real life . It's not about promoting poor diet or anything, just for women to not obsess about their bodies and feel comfortable with them. Girls don't only come in one size ... anorexic lollipop. But from what you see on TV you would think they do.
"And it's not an attempt to increase sales of the album to men."
On the contrary i think it is. Like a lot of girl bands, they play on the girl band image and use it to their advantage [which is their porogative[ sp? oh my god?] ] but i don't think thats what gets people respect and integrity. And I'm not saying that's the only reason they sell records.
Anyway, the underlying theme here is that i think they suck and can't play for shit and you think they can so we will have to just agree to disagree

and i'd call natalie imbruglia a c**t without provocation too. Now Sarah, you're just going to have to deal with the fact that Daniel Johns is engaged to her. I know it's tough, but it'll get better. .... Now.... re: Kelly Osbourne vs Skulker: Katy did touch on some good points actually. I think the songs they write and boring, predictable and overdone. I'll admit that Greer is no Paul when it comes to writing lyrics. A couple of songs off their first album such as Morgan, Mr Cutie Pie, and 20th Century Boy are quite mediocre. However, some of the other songs, particularly off the latest album show real promise. Day After Yesterday is a good song dealing with the topic of feeling time slipping away from you and Divine is a nice ballad. Some of the lyrics are as follows: And the people all said to you Whatcha' doing here? Why can't you just keep moving? Well you say it all the time You say it all the time Sing it to me Sing it like you mean it DivineIt sounds better with the music but I guess that's subjective. My one gripe with her lyrics though is that her choruses aren't as strong as they could be. There's too much repetition which can get old fast. A number of songs from both albums take one phrase or sentence and drag it out for the chorus and repeat it over and over. It can get a bit tiring. However, her verses can be pretty good so I'd say with some improvement she could be writing some solid songs soon. Speaking of lyrics, let's look at some of Kelly Osbourne's lyrics. How about her song, Shut Up (some good advice there Kelly). Shut up! Don't want to hear your voice. Shut up! I'm sick of all the noise. There's nothing you can say to me, So get away from me. Shut up!
Don't want to be polite. It's messed up, How you always think you're right. There's nothing you can say, That's gonna change the way I am. Shut up!Mmm, deep stuff Kelly *cough* And i think they play up the fact they are a girl band to sell cds. More like, some of their fans do, and yeah it annoys me. I saw this review of their latest album on triple J's website "Totally awesome. Gotta love a chick band that really pulls it off. These girls have talent." Grrr. But I don't think Skulker themself have the same attitude. On their website, Angela the drummer was asked the question of (paraphrasing here..) did she feel she was helping promote women in the music industry etc. Her response was that it was a stupid question because gender and music were irrelevant and even asking a question like that is trivialising the issue. So based on that I'd say no, the band themself isn't trying to sell their music based on their gender. Anyway, if you like Kelly Osbourne's "music" then that's great. Just, I personally don't. She comes off as a little too "hey I'm a celebrity so buy my music", instead of "hey I have something to communicate so buy my music" for me.

Still, that is hardly unique to Kelly Osbourne. I doubt the following successful music acts have communicated anything other than receipts to their fans:
Metallica AC/DC The Corrs (although Andrea does communicate something different altogether when she wears a slinky black dress) Live Creed (see - "Is it Wrong to Rock for Christ")
