Hey, my machine spewed out 6 corrupt disks which I've used to back up my files before reformat. I can see the files on the DVD's by using explorer in most cases, but cannot open or copy them.
Is there any softwarea any of you are aware of which would allow me to grab at least some of the stuff I have lost back?

I don't know if this will work, but it might be good to give it a go before you rule the discs out. (there's probably an easier way)
Anyway, do you know how to image discs so it's like one big file on the computer as opposed to having a dvd disc. (you can use a program like nero to do this)
And then you can use Daemon tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/portal.php) to open the image file and view whatever is on the discs.
This may make no difference at all.......so not sure, i've never heard of that happening before, but I haven't burnt a dvd I guess. I'm sure someone else will have a better idea.
