These CDs will be shared via a branch/leaf system. 4 or 5 branches will provide leaves with copies of the CD - burned in a DAO (that means no gaps between songs!) format on 80 minute CDs. Leaves will forward blank cds and postage (B+P) to their branch. Alternatively, a leaf based in Oz may send $4.00 to their branch to cover cds and postage - the B+P option should be considered first. Overseas readers are also welcome to get involved.
So, what happens now?
If interested in being a branch or a leaf, send a message to my Say Something username, or email me: heatbeeds@hotmail.removethisbit.com If sending me an email, remove this bit = "removethisbit"
Let me know your name, your email address, and what state and/or country you live in.
If you want a copy - you're a leaf. If you want to help spread the love (and obviously get a copy) - you're a branch.
Experienced Say Something participants only will be considered for branch roles - of course, anyone reading this is more than welcome to get involved as a leaf! After a couple of days I'll allocate leaves to branches - eg NSW residents to a NSW branch (where possible) etc.
Any questions or queries, post away. If you're reading this in 6 months time - feel free to get in touch with me, I'll be more than happy to burn you a copy.
Lastly, if at any point I find this gig available for download via mp3, I'll cease sharing gigs that my mates are generous enough to share with me. I'm staunchly anti-mp3 when it comes to trading bootlegs - they're an inferior product. As I said in the earlier paragraph, if anyone wants a copy of this (even if you're reading this in 2 years!) get in touch with me and I'll happily burn you one!
Cheers
Heath
Edit begins here:
One thing I did forget to discuss - the quality of the bootleg.
I'm going to go on a limb here and say, one of the best Dempsey bootlegs I've heard. Despite the raucous crowd (over 18 and licensed!!), the recording is a treat - capturing the crowd's reaction beautifully, documenting each of Dempsey's mini spiels - you'll probably even hear yourself singing on it.
It's clear, and you'll be impressed. Listening to a couple of hundred people sing Pinstripe makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck each time I hear it - for an audience recording, this is easily rated A. Dempsey solo absolutely lends itself to any recording - you guys know that!
