Does anyone have an mp3 (or other digital format) of the original recording of "Truly"? By that I don't mean the SFK version, but the original by that "underrated Subpop trio called Hazel"?
I would love to have a listen.

good question. i searched for it a while back on the net. i think hazel was an old project by one particular dude who seems to have been in many different bands. the official site of this guy had a number of free downloads, but truly wasnt available while were on the topic, what does the term "subpop" mean? anyone know?

Sub Pop is a independant US record label. Noteworthy for being the first ones to sign Nirvana, and a lot of people see them as the pioneers of grunge music. They don't seem to have as much relevance anymore. Hazelwww.subpop.com/bands/hazel/hazel.htmlI have the orginal Hazel mp3 - I will dig it out for you. If I don't in a few days remind me as I may forget about it...

Yep, they are. They do a great job... I didn't mean lack of relevance in terms of quality of bands, I meant relevance in the sense that they had a huge impact on music back in those days, and while I'm sure they are still bringing out great stuff it's not having the same ground breaking impact that it did back then... success I'm sure they themselves couldn't even match. Maybe "impact" would be more appropriate than relevance.

those were the days! so many great Seattle bands! SubPop completely changed the face of music as we knew it. i just wish they would hurry the fuck up and do it again because so much of the mainstream music nowadays bites. they do seem to have fallen from grace.

Heard a grainy version on J-files - or maybe 30 seconds of it. It sounded good.
Has the file been put up anywhere?

Consider yourself reminded. B-)
I forgot about this myself actually, but yeah, I'd really like to check it out. A female singer/songwriter wasn't it?

Yeah, cheers for that.
I guess we can officially consider this *case closed*.
I mean, I rest my case.
