He was probably too scared to try to get out of it before, and here he was forced to try. It seems a bit unrealistic that he could just get up and run though, because being in a wheelchair, after a certain amount of time your muscles begin to atrophy. I guess he could've been doing exercises to prevent that, but that's a lot of if's. Very unlikely.

have we missed a couple of episodes? they are saying 'whats in the case' on the ad? what case? last we saw the 2 boys were banging something metal on the ground, we never saw any case. did i miss an episode or have i just forgotten because they rudely took it off for a few weeks again?

That made no sense at all. Sure she would care about something sentimental, but there was no real reason for her to lie about it. Considering she has no problem lying about things, she could have just said it was from a relative who died. I just don't believe she was so desperate to get it that she carried on the way she did, and also how she didn't want to open it in front of the dr.
