im watching LOST i love this show. what does everyone think the mysterious monster is? i have some theories but want to hear others before i reveal mine

i watched my first episode tonight, i missed the first 2
so i'm a bit confused as to what's happening.

i reckon the monster is a rotting pig's head on a stick with flies buzzing around it.

Hmm well the mysterious 'thing' was most prominent and scary in those episodes.

It's something quite large which is knocking over trees, making horrible noises, chasing people etc ... oh and it ate the pilot!

I theorise that they will drag it out as long as possible, and if they can they won't EVER tell us what it is. They have built it up so much that I think whatever it is, we will be disappointed.

What you've missed ... hmm well I'm sure you figured out the plane crashed on an island by now. Basically that hunky guy from Party of Five (conveniently a Dr.) is looking after everyone. We knew one of the plane members was a criminal, but only just found out it was that girl with the brown hair (they led us to believe it was this evil guy). The chinese man is nasty and controlling of his wife, and he has made them stay seperate from the group.

Apart from that I think the only other things you missed were some whinging and screaming.

And a polar bear. They found a radio thing and made it work, and went walking up to the top of the hill to get a signal, and realised they couldn't send one out because one was already being sent from the island. It was in French but they figured out it was a woman saying something like 'They're all dead, it killed them all, please send help' and it had been repeating over and over for something like 16 years. Obviously no one has heard it in all that time.

So they were sad and went back home. And killed a polar bear that came running at them on the way. Weird.

how depressing..........how did they know it was 16 years old?? ad polar bear? i thought they were on a tropical sland....or is that like LOSTs' schtik or something.

They have landed on Jurassic Park and soon Sam Neil will come to the rescue!!!

yeah and it turns out some other fat guy (uhhh you know that newman guy from seinfeild,stupid yupee show ) is the cause for all thier troubles

Lost is a damn cool show, i've seen upto episode 15 so i won't give anything away but you gotta keep watching.

I will! As much as I make fun of it, I really love the show. It's great to watch it, but when you recount what happened to someone it sounds so silly I can't help but make fun.

Have you found out what the monster is yet?

They knew it was that old because apparently there was a counter on it, that would count each message after it played. They worked out the number, then did the maths and figured out that was 16+ years.

That bit was actually really cool.

sorry i just remembered a MacGeyver moment....
so did they write in the radio bit so they could meet the polar bear.....or did they try to take your mind off the mechanics....by adding a polar bear.....
i just hope at the end its not all a dream or somethin.....dont you hate that...........

I think they are very slowly trying to establish that these people are not going to get off the island.

They need to make it believable. Everyone at home would be sitting there saying, oh sure, the search party would be there by now. So they are just setting up why this hasn't happened, and probably won't happen.

They are also setting up a whole Bermuda triangle sort of lost undiscovered island thing (which accounts for the strange creature).

They haven't made it clear what the monster is but there is more weird/creepy stuff that happens and you kind of begin to get an idea. John Locke (the old guy) is an instrumental character in this and he kind of gives an idea of what it is. I think the ratings have been really good for Lost in the states so i believe they are planning more series. So i doubt they will be getting off the island any time soon.

i'm even more excited now to see what happens! i would love the show to go for many more series but i don't know how they can drag it out. they could get 40 episodes doing one on each character, but where do you go from there?

OMG tonights episode was great! i loved how the dr kept seeing that ghost or mysterious person! that was scaring the crap out of me! i can't wait to find out what it is. and no im not asking for spoilers
