i'm going on a holiday there at the end of the month (28th - 2nd) and was wondering if there are any sites i definately have to see? also wondering on some good places to go to at night, pubs and the like. and does anyone want to meet up? have a drink or something? oh and good music shops  ta  |

When I went there in January, one thing that struck me was that the city is like a monopoly board. It's very symmetrical, laid out on an almost perfect grid, which is somewhat different to Sydney. Anyway, have fun. |

bridge road for outlet shopping
chapel street, but not outlet
the shopping is rather good most places in melbourne
better coffee too

there are two really good music shops in the city: Gaslight: 85 Bourke st (also has a second hand cd store next door, 'second spin') Missing Link: 262 Flinders Lane have a fun trip |

i have to agree with you on gaslight and second spin. mind you, jb hi-fi is my new best friend, and even hmv is doing good for me lately.
definately st. kilda for some night life, and places like the hi-fi bar in the city have gigs all the time.

I could probably suggest some brothels and/or massage parlours to you....... Some guy made a well paying career over writing tourist guides on brothels all over the world. And of course, he had to test the services so he could review them (most of which were happily given for free). Perhaps a new career path for you Sharky |
