Im going to Melbourne in January for a holiday and would love to check out some local bands!
Please suggest some bands, venues and of course gig dates!!!

The South Yarra Saloon on Thursday nights has three independent bands, it changes every week but I think there's some sort of rotationgoing on. $4 entry so that's pretty sweet.
There's a band called Beakun which you might or might not like... quasi-punk I think is a fairly good description. That sort of music but not at all political. Think Bodyjar, Blink 182, that sort of thing. They are at the Saloon a bit, and are at the Armadale on Saturday night, I assume there'd be other local bands there too.

that's every Thursday night, but as for the Armadale I only know that it's the 5th. tomorrow... well probably tonight by now!

Arthouse people. .go to the arthouse (near the vic market on elizabeth street). . .there are gona be some good gigs comming up there. . Mid Youth Crisis re-union everybody!!. . these guys were one of the best power punk bands from this fair city. . . . they played with bodyjar, no use for a name, sex pistols, caustic soda, crettins puddle, millencollin, and a whole heap of other bands
15th of Febuarary at the arty, with nation blue and farleftlimit. . it will be awesome. . .and you gotta go. .
