Bit of a favour to ask.
Does anyone have a copy of the show (I think it was at the Corner) from years ago - literally maybe just before Echolalia (or maybe Beautiful Sharks) came out of Paul solo where he played East and Anchorman II? There were something like 20-22 songs in it overall
I got it off this site back in the day but at the time only had a crappy old computer with no cd burning/usb capabilites and which can no longer connect to the internet so I have no access to it apart from listening on crappy, crappy speakers whenever I'm back home.
Can anyone help me out and put it on the ftp?

I think you're talking about the Corner Hotel back in August 24, 2000 that had been divided into two discs... Anyway, I've had it uncomplete for years ... I have most of the songs, but a few are still missing ... I think only a few of us on the forum have it complete ...
There was 22 songs played, and as for me I have 19 songs ... I still miss Anchorman II (from the first disc), and White & Whatever you want (from the second disc)
According to the mp3 tags that say "geocities.com/sfkforthenovice", this show had been posted on the former sfkforthenovice site ... so maybe Katy will post this show again once her site is back up, or at least upload the three missing songs on the FTP and I'll upload all the songs I've got. The songs I've got are 160 kb/s.
I'll try to post it soon on the FTP ... but I think Laubarnes is trying to get rid of some old shows to gain some space (coz' his FTP space is becoming scarce)

I shared it without the unreleased tracks initially, and then uploaded them as well later on when I was able to. I didn't realise people still had incomplete copies... how irritating! I hate it when I have a show missing only a couple of songs. I no longer have that show in mp3 format, but I obviously still have the CD version so I'd be happy to rip some mp3s again. If I just rip the missing tracks they aren't going to match so I may as well just rip the whole thing. I could probably rip a lower quality smaller file version, and a higher quality version for those who don't care about large files. I've been talking to Lau about moving some stuff off the FTP to my hosting space to leave room on the server for new stuff. You could upload it to the FTP if you want so OhMyGiddyAunt doesn't have to wait (I won't be able to rip the mp3s until the weekend), then on the weekend when I have the new files ready on my hosting space I could get Lau to delete it? The reason why I stopped sharing bootlegs via mp3 and was off them in general, was because it seems to pollute/degrade the quality of bootlegs as people will burn the poor quality mp3 version to CD and trade that without mentioning it's mp3 format, instead of trading the original CD version (if that makes sense  ). I suppose there are always going to be people who aren't fussy and would just like some mp3s to listen to, and others who would prefer the higher quality CD version. It would be great if the person sharing the show could start a trading tree after uploading an mp3 version of the show. That way people can download the mp3 version, get a higher quality version on CD or both! If the person didn't have the will/time I would be happy to do it on your behalf. |

Even if you rip the CD you got in 160 kb/s, it probably won't fit with the others ... anyhow, are you suggesting I upload the 19 songs I've got so that OhMyGiddyAunt can hear most of the bootleg and then, you'll put your version on your space and ask Laurence to put mine in the trash? Is that it? I think it's fine with me ... I'll try to upload it tomorrow to the FTP. |

Well then ... I'm not gonna upload it unless the people who are waiting ask me to do it ... Although, i think it's a bit stupid to upload an incomplete show that will be uploaded in its entirety a few days later at a higher bitrate ... So unless people ask me to upload the songs before Katy does upload her version, i ain't gonna do it ...

Thanks for the offer David, but since Katy's going to post the mp3s over the weekend then I'll save you the trouble and wait an extra couple of days.
And thanks to you too, Katy. Yeah, I did get this show originally off your site, so I have been around for a while, just didn't post. Maybe I was feeling a bit shy back then ;D

so weird ppl using my full name. damnit i want 6 gig of space on the server (double what i have atm - only $50 hmmm) - i would love more space for sfk stuff.
did this gig have the amazing machine? would love to get a bootleg copy of it.
