Hi everyone... i've been lurking here on this forum for quite a while. Had the delightful privilege of flying down to Melbourne last week to see Paul play. It was a fantastic night. I thought some of you might like to take a listen to, and maybe offer up some feedback on some (instrumental) tracks I recorded recently. Something for Kate is a large influence on the music I write, amongst other bands and artists. Info and mp3s can be found here www.longslowaccident.com/archives/2005/03/reactions_demo.html or here www.longslowaccident.com/lsa_gallery/reactionsI hope you enjoy it

intermission and through to now are my favourites. my immediate 'reaction' would be that in the quiet parts of some of the songs, the repeating patterns could get really annoying. try not to just loop short patterns like that I guess? and a few of the songs would be better if they were played twice as fast or with less quiet sections. definitely less dawdling! i got really bored in some of the slower sections and had to resist skipping ahead. oh and i would remove the drum from the very very end of intermission. otherwise they are

intermission and through to now are my favourites. Thanks for the feedback. Intermission does seem to be the favorite amongst the people I've shared these with. Interestingly though, Through To Now seems to put a lot of people off. It was more of an exercise in making something that was difficult to listen to in parts, whilst very smooth in others. my immediate 'reaction' would be that in the quiet parts of some of the songs, the repeating patterns could get really annoying. try not to just loop short patterns like that I guess? yeah, I agree. Some of the these were written and recorded with no particular structure to them in mind where as others were very noticably recorded around a verse/chorus/bridge structure and I don't think it did the songs any favours due to the lack of lyrics in these. oh and i would remove the drum from the very very end of intermission. otherwise they are Thanks

Good songs. I would be a little worried about the titles though. Intermission, and Long Slow Accident are both well known sfk-isms - you may look a little uncreative/unoriginal.

good songs. can definately see the sfk influcence, but still very well crafted. personally i cant see them being much while still instrumentals, even though the riffs themselves are good. i know you've probably considered this yourself, but lyrics would probably help, especially resolving the structure and stopping them sounding so repetetive.
and thats my input
