well, they weren't made in 2002, were they? and since we're talking about films of 2002, you can't really compare them, yes? so ha, it was good.

Good: - Cannot think of a single one -
Bad: The Ring - Worst story line, not even scary 8 Crazy Nights - Funny but not THAT funny Panic Room - I dunno I got bored during it and fell asleep
Speaking of falling asleep, I fell asleep during the first lord of the rings, missed most of it...so I don't think I liked that very much...

I have to disagree with you Steph. I thought The Ring was different to your standard American I Know What Your Breasts Did Last Summer type horror schlock.

yeah, i liked the ring too. except for when i could see the microphone, and the boom sweeping across the ceiling. completely ruined it. otherwise, it was a really good film - that shot of the dead girl in the cupboard was fucking cool. ;D

I'm with Hawaiian Robot on this one... I didn't like The Ring that much.
***SPOILER***
I like scary movies to have scary story lines and a daughter being abused/unwanted by her father and killed by her mother is not crazy enough to to kill people via video messages.

I must admit this year has been rather poor movie wise, yet I am very persistant to see 'Adaptation' & 'The Two Towers'

am i the only one that doesn't get this whole LOTR thing? okay, i haven't actually seen the movie or reads the books, but eh, i have no desire to. at all. same with harry potter. mind you, i read the first book harry potter book (it's smaller, give me a break) and meh. i started the second and it's just as meh. didn't even finish it. i've seen both films though, they're kind of cool, but i guess not my type of film. the chamber of secrets was half decent though, so add that to the half-way inbetween list.

Tis ok Melly, I really have my mother to thank for Lord of The Rings. I found her copy of The Hobbit one day and 'borrowed' it and found it quite fun to read! Hence I ended up reading LOTR.
I havent read or seen anything Harry Potter related - its never really drawn my attention....I just dont seem to be to intersted by it (not saying that I hate it, I just havent any desire to read it)

Worst Movie: Star Wars episode 2 (I think it came out this year......I might be mistaken)
The story was shallow the acting was clumsy......the only positive was a lack of Jar Jar Binks

Re: Star Wars 2. Compared to Episode 1, it wasn't so bad.
Re: Lord Of The Rings. I liked the first movie, and I'll probably like the 2nd movie on Thursday, but Melly, read the book. It's soo much better. Peter Jackson has done a good job but there's no way he could completely capture the spirit of the book onto film. Start with The Hobbit, before LOTR since it's small and introduces things briefly.
