I think i read somewhere that this was the name of a poem Paul liked or something? It would've been a more useful statement had i been able to remember who wrote the poem

i heard it was to do with the speed of light, or sound, or something? like it takes 8 minutes to reach earth, so it is "elsewhere for 8 minutes". something like that. that sounds really wrong, please correct me so i look like an idiot.

If you insist No, i'm actually here to make myself look like an idiot. You were right Mel. I don't know what the hell i was on about ;D ( Q ) Where did the name "Elsewhere For 8 Minutes" come from? ( A ) The name is from Stephen Hawkings' book A Brief History of Time. It refers to a scientific theory of light and time, that says that because light moves at a constant rate (the speed of light), it will form a cone of light in time as it spreads away from its source. Anything that occurs outside of this cone is in the elsewhere region. Because the light from the sun takes eight minutes to reach Earth, we are in the sun's elsewhere region for 8 minutes before we enter its light cone. So, if the sun were to explode and stop shining, we would not know about it until 8 minutes after it happened, because we would be "elsewhere for 8 minutes".
