i felt like i was at a game of football the way people were yelling out "carn dempsey" and cheering wildly after every song... i wonder what people would request if paul came out playing truely and pinstripe first two songs?

oooh, both shows were wonderful. on the first night i was in the front row, and my friend had a camera, so she spent the entire night snapping away. i have the sexiest, yummiest 6x8" enlargement of him up close. rowr. though i was really tired, and so through grant lee philips i sat on those speakers (?) and actually almost fell asleep many times. poor guy, he looked over at me quite a few times and i'm sure he was at least a tad offended. oops. but yes, it was all good. sadly though, that first night he didn't play any new stuff and only did 1 encore. ah well. and i never found glenny either. :/ second night i was up the back a bit, but still saw it all. met up with evan actually, and i took my minidisc along to bootleg it (shame the microphone was up too loud, i ruined it completely :/). still good though, since he played moving right along and i knew the words (bet no one else did!), but alas, did not play anchorman part 2 as he did in adelaide (which he so appropriately titled "attack of the clones" ). i think the second night was a better set myself, the 2 encores helped immensely too. all in all, really fucking great. 8)

I wouldn't have minded hearing Astronaut II: The Astronaut Returns... (Attack of the clones is a good title but I thought I'd bring up the Black Stallion books... I used to love them.
I went to the Friday Melbourne show... Very choice bro. Did anyone else there think Paul at one stage got pissed off with the crowd yalling "Pinstripe" and just went "Jesus!" (as in shut the fuck up you dropkicks).
That must piss performers off so much. Unless it's a silly request like my "Genie in a bottle".

yeah, the thing is i would've actually said "shut the fuck up your dropkicks". i guess paul is just too nice to do that. really though, it would get a tad irritating. that's why i don't do it, because i'm a good girl.

I'm many things... I'm arrogant and a hypocrite. But at least I use my flaws for good. ie I take the piss out of myself.
But anyway... yeah I'm sure I heard him just go "Jesus" and I reckon it was cos he was pissed off.
Still should have done Rock DJ. Now that's a song waiting for Dempsey's take.

no one likes to see attitude from performers, especially when punters have parted with their hard earned $. I thought the idea was about engagement, not passivity...

i'd disagree with that to a certain extent, peformers like oasis and ryan adams make a decent enough living out of being assholes on stage

yeah, but that's part of their stage show! paul's a better man than that! It's disappointing though, just another reminder he is only human i guess
