Maybe Tim Rodgers... Has he been working on a follow up to What Rhymes With Cars and Girls?
Other ideas: Neil Finn Billy Birmingham (hehe)

Tim Rogers is going to be supporting Steve Earle pretty soon, so I doubt it'd be him
Darren Hanlon perhaps?

Neil Finn would not be supporting PD... it'd be the other way round. alex and PD are about even in prestige, so i doubt they'd tour together (unless they did an Alanis/Tori or Counting Crows/Live thingy...). and as for Darren Hanlon, i hope not (saw him with Augie March and got very bored very quickly).
one guy i'd love to see tour with PD is Shane Nicholson. he's the lead singer of some aussie band (someone help me out here) and he played solo acoustic in support of Natalie Merchant the other month. he was fucking astonishing - SFK-esque, even. i was just sitting there with my mouth hanging open.

and to continue my negativity, please not Tim Rogers. he's boooooring (i've interviewed the guy), and he's far to arrogant to support paul ("me? support HIM?! NEVER!")

How do you know whether or not Tim Rodgers is arrogant! There you go, making assumptions again...

Personally I'd love to see Nathan Gaunt support, but I dunno if that's going to happen. I'm not really a fan of Neil Finn, Alex Lloyd or Tim Rogers. Meh.

Shane Nicholson is lead singer for Pretty Violet Stain. He played guitar for Alex Lloyd on his tour.
Personally I'd love to see Juan Alban of Epicure supporting, but I don't see it happeneing

just for dirtgirl, i'll rephrase:
"after talking with Tim Rogers, it is my opinion that he is arrogant"
there ya go.

As much as I'd love it to be Bern, somehow I doubt it. Where'd you hear he was doing solo shows anyway? I would've thought they'd be too tied up recording the album for the mid part of this year... *shrugs*

i think you're over looking the obvoius -
[glow=red,2,300]The Steph Show!!![/glow]
"A 30 minute solo show from Stephanie Ashworth, featuring non-stop b(ad)ass action, and with cigarettes and prerecorded telephone conversations
But seriously, maybe Wally Gunn (?), ex. tour guitarist? Or Pip doing sidewinder stuff?
Eric Bogle? Kevin Jebidiah? Greg Atkinson? Slim Dusty?
What about chicks? It could be Rebecca Bernard or Michala from Lash?
