from www.beat.com.auPowderfinger’s Bernard Fanning and You Am I’s Tim Rogers will be performing in a solo benefit concert for the Woomera 2002 protest, being held between March 29 and April 2 in Woomera. The protest is about the treatment of Asylum seekers in Australia, and anyone also wanting to protest about the Roxby uranium mine and the Pine Gap military base - both within close proximity to the Woomera Detention centre - or the dispossession of Kokatha and Arabunna people will be welcome. The benefit concert is on March 23 at the Hi-Fi Bar and costs $20, which goes directly to the costs of the protest. For more info visit www.woomera2002.com

Apparently, according to the girl i spoke to at the ZOO it is someone from America who can only travel out here for a limited time...... The dates were originally in the local street press as the 20 and 21st of April and have been pushed back to accomodate this "special guest"..... Just some suggestions (based on no knowledge, just personal preference)Other suggestions welcome... Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, John Butler (Australian, but in US at the moment, i think), Jeff Buckley (Dead, but what a night it would have been..........) Adam Duritz (Counting Crows frontman) lead singer of Hazel(to do a duet with Paul of the terrific song 'Truly'.....) Johnny Marr (lead singer of the Smiths), Art Garfunkel(Maybe not, but i also hear he is in the country in May........??) Any other Suggestions.... ?? ;D 8)

nah i think you're onto something with Steph...she'll come out with her bass ready to play some songs, introduce herself, introduce the song, then get sidetracked and start to talk about some issue that concerns her, and she'd, and talk, and talk, and talk, then run out of time to play anything.
maybe the guy from big heavy stuff? has he ever done solo shows before?

as i said the suggestions were based on personal preference not any real knowledge...... you are right - we will have to wait and see.... I'm sure it will be someone obscure yet absolutely mind alteringly brilliant - look who they are touring with..... In other words - they wont be crap..... (i think i also made up a word or two back there - artistic license)

Steve Waugh could do some motivational speeches. Of course, he wouldn't have changed out of his whites and baggy green since Australia's most recent test victory.
I only thought of Steve Waugh because this post is a back foot drive down to deep backward square leg for a single... 99 (just like Steve is famously capable of getting out).
LOL at Jeff Buckley. I shouldn't laugh at the deceased, but I have a warped, morbid humour.
How friggin good would it be if it was Eddie Vedder. Highly unlikely, but worth entertaining the thought. I'll give that 33-1.
Greg Atkinson 3-1 (although I hear Robbie Waterhouse is giving 500-1) Ben Harper 25-1 Ryan Adams 10-1 Alanis Morissette (I dread this scenario?) 40-1 Denis Leary 100-1 Busta Rhymes 125-1 Tupac and Jeff Buckley write your own ticket

Did you know that when one little panda pulls on another little panda's underwear, that's sexual harassment? That makes me a sa-a-a-a-ad panda
