Hello y’all. I’m in an absolute shite of a mood so I’m going to have a good whine about everything. Disagree, agree, whatever. Just don’t be offended. I shouldn’t be corresponding in this state. Firstly I’m sick to death of hearing about people claiming that Paul’s lyrics have inspired a change within their lives without really thinking. I agree, he writes the best lyrics, thought provoking, the whole works. But I couldn’t help feeling sorry for the person who wrote the message regarding how songs such as “20 years” & “Jerry” had inspired him to make a change regarding his career. He then asks if anyone had an idea on what career he should pursue. Does this person really understand what “life choice” means? This isn’t something that can be decided for you. It has to be you, the individual who decides what you want to do with your life. If you don’t make this decision yourself you are the robot you are trying so hard not to be. Okay, I’m going to tell this person something, which will probably provide his/her identity. If your dream is to become a successful artist, do whatever you can to achieve this goal. So what if you’re not successful now, but if you’re sure enough to claim you want to be a recognized artist, work at it. If you ignore your dreams nothing you fulfill in life will leave you fully satisfied. No one becomes a star overnight.
Oh, and another thing. Katy could you please edit out pointless, unrelated to the topic conversation over the forum. Maybe even add a new section in the forum titled general chitchat so users don’t have to weed their way through crap to find other peoples comments on a topic that they’re actually interested in. Please, users, stick to the point. Sorry to be a shit but it annoys the hell out of me. Maybe I’m being over sensitive on this issue but really it’s just a waste of space.
Have a nice day, eat well etc,
Sir Reggie whinge-a-lot.
hey reggie. long time no posts I havent read the posts about 20 years yet but i think ive got the gist from what your saying. Maybe this person was more inspired by Paul to pursue what he really wanted instead of conforming, as opposed to being kind of a sheep (as i think your suggesting?) Being someone who wants to be a musician i understand the pressure that can be put on you from society and family to 'succeed' and 'get a REAL job'. I think that it takes a real lot of courage and a certain type of person to say 'screw it all, this is for me', ignoring all the pressure and criticism to pursue a career in music. Some people can have all the heart in the world but can get scared into thinking they are going to wind up no hopers unless they go to uni, so they give in to the pressure and join the rat race. Im not saying this is the right thing to do, but its what happens. Perhaps this was one of those people who forgot what it was that really inspired and moved him/her, yet Pauls words managed to, and were that little extra push that he/she needed? In regard to the off topic posts, i can only move topics by moving the whole thread. I only do so when the original topic of the thread is in the wrong place. I understand where your coming from, but it would be deleting posts all over the place which basically, isnt very nice. Im sure the culprits will heed your advice ( ) cheers kt

I actually quite like the off topic talk...makes things interesting 'n all that If the only thing people talk about is the actual subject...don't y'think it might get kinda boring? Besides, if people go off on tangents, other newsbits and trivia and whatnot tend to come up, and you get a more worthwhile read *Shrugs* That's what I think anyways

Hehehe, they're like a tangier orange aren't they?
I just don't think it's something to worry about really. If people only ever talk about Something For Kate here, it'll get kinda dull kinda quick
