go for it whether its easy or not depends on the person i guess. when i could play things once off better than my friend getting lessons i thought maybe i had a nack for it. i think the most important thing to concentrate on is developing a good sense of rhythm. you can practice 8 hours a day and still suck if you dont have any rhythm.

If you are serious about this I have a couple of tips: 1. When looking for a guitar and amp make sure that you do not get the cheapest possible or otherwise you will regret send about $400 on each and get a well known brand name if you can cause it should mean less problems. 2. When you start off don't worry if it takes a long while to play something resembling a song the first 3 to 6 months are ALWAYS the worst! If you have any other questions about guitars you can email me.

Start cheap, no more than $100 on an acoustic. If you like playing and think it's worth while spending up on equipment by all means do it.

for starters, i know you probably want to, but i wouldn't start trying to play something for kate songs straight off the bat. Alot of them are challenging songs, start with simple shit. the first song i learnt was freak by silverchair, very simple. just find stuff you like that is easy with powers chords and try to get into the rythme of strumming

maybe you could start with some easy (well easier :/ ) SFK songs like truly for example (with the capo of course) um............ and photograph! that one would be a good picky one for a beginner
