I was about to say the same thing....its really hard to describe how to strum SFK song.....the only way to get the strumming close is play along with the songs...
also Practice, Practice and more Practice helps!!! haha

Hey all, Id sugest that strumming patterns are really not that important, as long as your in time. (well at least in sfk songs) With that whole tapping your feet thing...some people find it hard to do two things at once(like playing chords with your left hand and strumming at the same time) and if throwing a third spanner into the works could complicate it further. Do what feels comfortable and easy. If you have the DVD watch his playing closely to give you a better idea on the strumming.

yeah, stumming patterns are really hard to teach! its something u sort of have to PICK UP yourself...(hehe, no pun intended...!)
anyway, just listen really closly to the song your trying to learn.

Try listening to the drums as well. In songs without an easily identifiable guitar rythym(sp?), such as manmade horse, it can sometimes help.

If your counting in quavers, the monsters verse is: -------Bar 1-------------|-----------Bar 2-------- rest 2 3 4 rest 6 7 8_________rest 2 3 4 rest 6 7 8 the numbers are strums, the chords change between the rests. eg. 2,3+4 are the first chord. 6,7+8 are the second chord, 2,3+4 of the next bar is all the same chord etc. Except the last 6, 7, 8 is the same chord, jsut the root note changes. If that is only confusing, forget it and keep practising and good luck
