I was looking at the guitar emporium site, and came across this: www.guitaremporium.com.au/guitars.html(You'll find it under the pic of the brown tele thinline, not far down) Hope one of you has $3500 spare Oh, and if any of you would be nice enough to 'hold' this for me for like 2 years until I can afford it I will worship you as a god and sacrifice virgins for you. Edit: was just looking at the amp section.

Why the hell is he selling them? surely he's not short up for cash or anything....seems crazy to part with instruments that created albums and tours.... i dunno.

i think it might be because he wants to change... you get sick of some guitars and want to try out others sometimes... maybe to write new things he needs to play on new things

I remember reading somewhere that Pip was giving Paul a hard time about buying a new Guitar that was exactly (well almost) the same as the one he had just bought. Im guessing now that he has his new Fender Tele (the Black One with Orange Sunburst Colour) he would no longer require the natural coloured one that he had bought previously.
Hes probably traded his amp and guitar in against something new he has wanted, or he might have them on consignment?
Regards Matt

He wouldn't be short on money so I doubt he would NEED to trade them in for new stuff, but who knows. I'm incredibly sentimental, and if I was in Paul's position could not even think of selling my old guitars ...

I don't think Paul gets terribly attached to his gear, I think he likes to try new things.

Didn't he also have another one like this, but it was black instead of sunburst? BTW, if it's the one im thinking of, with the Strat neck and 2 humbuckers, its a Deluxe Tele, not Custom, if memory serves. Sorry for being picky. www.fender.com/products/show.php?seek=electricguitars_classicseriesguitarsBoth are down the bottom. Not much difference, just the neck (Strat instead of Tele) and the bridge pickup (humbucker instead of single-coil), so its more like a Gibson LP than a telecaster, really.

Holy shit... I can't believe this guitar is still there for sale! The amp sold pretty quick so Im surprised the guitar hasn't. Im thinking of maybe selling my '70 Les Paul for it Such a nice guitar

Isn't the tele deluxe more or less the Fender version of a Gibson LP? But yeah, nice bloody guitar.

I guess you could say they are pretty close guitars but Fender and Gibsons both have such individual sounds you can't really compare them. I find the Les Pauls have a more bass orientated sound but Fenders have a more treble orientated sound.
