Dear all, Paul played in Cologne his first German show … I just want to give you a little feedback about the show. I’m sure that David will do the same for London’s shows.
(Sorry for my poor English)
Finally, Paul Dempsey is coming back to Europe … last time it was in 2004 … It’s been way to long! This time, Paul played a free solo acoustic show in a little bar in Cologne, the StereoWonderland. The show started at 21.15 and ended at 22.30 in front of a 20 people audience (yes 20) No need to say that SFK and Paul are completely unknown in Continental Europe (the only album released in Europe is The official fiction) Only 7 people in the audience were fans.
As always with Paul, the show was intense. In a such small place, you could expect a kind of disappointment from Paul but that’s the exact opposite! Paul is playing and singing with all his might, he communicates a lot between each song, explaining us what the songs are about, making jokes, etc …
Playlist : Fast friends Bats Have you fallen out of love Out the airlock Ramona was a waitress Theme for a nice guy Impossible The great optimistic Monsters (audience request) Safety in numbness Max Planck Born to run Pinstripe (encore)(audience request)
Before and after the show we have the opportunity do discuss with Paul: Solo experience, UK shows, SFK next album … and to make him sign some albums. As in 2003/2004 tour he was very kind and communicative with every one of us.
Hope that Paul will come back asap in Europe.

Thanks very much for your review, Aurelien! I'm very surprised that there were just 20 ppl in Cologne! You are right, their music is not very present in Europe. Maybe that's the only reason for that. I was just able to buy The Official Fiction over here in Germany in summer of 2004. All the other releases incl. all singles etc. just via the Australian eBay website. I'm going to join the Pony club in Hamburg tonight and Intersoup bar in Berlin tomorrow. Hope to record sth. with my cam. Cheers!

I will not only post a review... rather small though the review, because I could write a novel, and no-one would read it, so there's no point in doing that. I'll also post the three new bootlegs from London. I also took some videos but they need to be compressed, they're like 1 Gb each for now (lol)

Aurelien, you were sooooooo lucky! Wish I could go to a tiny gig like that. Wow. David, speaking of novels, lol ... that's pretty much what my reviews were like But I wrote them anyway just for my own benefit. Doesn't matter if no one cares to read them. marcoj, yeah, I was so dumbstruck when I saw The Official Fiction sitting on a shelf in Thailand! It was the only SFK record I ever found in Thailand. The rest I got someone in Australia to buy for me and post to me.

it looks like a round podium where he played... not much place to put a drumset. It must've been awesome!!
