I use core sound binaural mics which are 2 little mics i clip to shoulder straps of a back pack or just clothing. These lead to a battery box and a sony mzr70 minidisc in the pocket. but at the moment the wiring in my battery box is fucked since you can switch between a bass filter being on or off, so i need to get it fixed. doh. If youve gone to nathans site www.geocities.com/sitdownstandup and heard his mp3s, they are recorded with the same mics, the mics will set you back about $250US and the minidisc i picked up second hand for $300. go to www.core-sound.com/mics.html, you'll see pics and a thorough description.

was wondering - people who know stuff - are there any viable and quality alternatives to minidisc?
i'm assuming DAT is still bloody expensive and so not really an option. is there longevity in MiniDisc format or is something poised to over take it soon?

my main advice is get an extension lead for your mic so that you can position it better on your body
