See, if Al Gore was elected (like he should of been) we most likely would not be in this mess... Bush is out of government soon lets hope. And seriously, Fuck War. Peace will never come about in our lifetime with the way that society reacts. No one wants to forgive or forget, revenge and anger is fuelling everyone and innocent people are caught in the cross fire. I hate this bloody mess and what it does to everyone. Gore was actually elected! The only reason Bush got in was because he had a couple of dodgy mates in the US supreme court which stopped the vote counting, before it could be properly finished. Not to mention that prior to the elections, laws were changed so that anybody with a criminal conviction, regardless of how minor, was excluded from voting! Hence about two black people in the southern states were eligible to vote! The whole system was a sham and was rigged!! I mean why the hell is the UN allowing Bush to finish daddy's unfinished business?! I agree, this is just about one man's vengence and abuse of power. And it's also about OIL!! Make no bones about it! The issue of weapons of mass descruction (sp) is a loverly red herring...how many weapons of mass descruction (sp) does the US have? Why are half of them casually parked in Fremantle harbour at this very moment as I write this!! (What if there is an 'accident?' What say do Perth residents have about this? None!! ) ... Enough to wipe the human race from of the earth a thousand times over!! And who's to say that George Bush is any less of a dangerous, meglomanic (sp) (a charge against Saddam). The US is definitely showing signs of acting like the ultimate rogue state of late... is this karma for all the bad shit america has inflicted on others such el savador? somalia? congo? algiers? palestine? etc.. Don't get me wrong, Saddam is bad news, but he ain't enough of an issue for us to send the sons and daughters of this great brown land to die for! To have innocent iraqi's slaughtered by the thousands and millions!! Say NO to this immoral war!

Damnit...I just spent 15 minutes typing up this huge long post and my computer froze! argh! Okies, here goes the shortened version- ======= I'm scared....I'm scared of what some people on this planet are capable of. I asked myself the other day 'What does war acheive?' Well...the only answer I could think of, was....nothing. War kills innocent people. War kills guilty people. War kills PEOPLE. It's a game with no winner. It was different 100 years ago, but in this day and age....it's scary to think of the destruction that could be caused. Our world is old, true...but it's not at the point where it needs to be fucked all over because of the stupidity of certain individuals with too much power. As for me, well, I'm only 14 years old. I have barely lived yet. There is so much I want to see, so much I want to experience...I don't want to live in a world of hatred and violence. I don't want to bring my children into such a place. I would want to see them happy, safe and healthy...not living in a world of pain and anger. I am scared to think, that one stupid action, could kill us all. Well, who is the winner then? We'd all be d-e-a-d. Then what? I am scared....as I'm sure we all are. We want a future...we want the futures which we all deserve. There is so much beauty in our world that we all have the right to experience...we all have the right to live. But this....this could end everything for us. All our hopes, all our dreams. It doesn't matter whos side you're on....either way, people are going to die. Either way, people will get hurt. Say no to this war...it's wrong, immoral...just say no.

Well where's the protest songs eh?
I think violence and war have always been a part of human history. It's nothing new. But if this war does take place then I don't want any part in it. My grandfather came back scarred from world war 2. He saw and did things no human should have to see and do.

Every human has the ability to kill another human. Every human has instincts that make them vicious and violent, and there is nothing that can supress this. And it sucks.
So if there is a war, I am going to quit school and do stuff that I have always wanted to do so I don't die an unhappy, uneducated adolescent.

The best way to handle fear is to tackle it head on - so go to the protests in your city, support the labour/greens/democrats parties (whew!), support your teachers (who as a profession have rejected this war!), etc etc... Have your say as a 'free' citizen. While you still can.

has anyone ever pondered that as human beings, we might actually have a gene for extinction? How many species of animal actively plot the death of one another? How many other species so enthusiastically kill their young? and chillingly, how many other species award that fat fuck Alex Lloyd Aria Awards?

Consider the animals that, when having been impregnated, eat their mate after the job is done. So, killing is technically in their genes. Even some of the most innocent of people have an influence on death, including Joan of Arc for example. I mean, she lead a whole army to war, and she was a saint!

I'm not sure it's just humans though. My cat's declared war on every other cat in the neighbourhood for example.
