it must be a phase you go through when your in like year 10, 11 and 12. I was totally into the so cal punk scene, and i still like a majority of those bands but most of the new stuff i here is totally boring.

sonic death...
what do you think of strung out?
they are so brilliant in every way, music talent, song writing and most definitely live performance

I have heard of them, but not heard them. A mate said they were really good. Unless they get played on the j's its unlikely that i would have heard of much new stuff. I do like Gob, New Found Glory, MXPX, Millencolin all that kind of stuff.

ahh ok, i recommend venturing outside of the jjj playlist when it comes to punk... i most highly recommend strung out's album called twisted by design, it is just amazing...
if you want to download a couple of songs to see if you like, try tracks like
* matchbook (while not comparing sfk to strung out in any way at all, this is their pinstripe - or you may say, their absolute classic track) * too close to see * deville (to name a few)
.. they are so frickin amazing and their live shows are indescribeable!
other punk bands you might wanna check out the backcatalogues of are
alkaline trio unwritten law (the black album is brilliant) bad astronaut no use for a name millencolin #nosmileys

Ooh i also love less than jake but i don't really consider them to be punk, they are kind off but in my mind i don't group them in that category. Every song is just so damn upbeat, even if its sad you just wanna get up, do a bit of a jig and play air guitar.

patti smith is not my thing, neither is any of the old punk... but the new styled stuff is what i'm referring to as being extremely shallow
