If you want some good Aussie punk that isn't shallow listen to Silent*Corporation....(aka Secondbest) They are awesome and I know the personally and they are great guys! Punk is good, I used to be full into it about a year ago...but you grow out of it....it gets a bit repetitive You have to be selective with new punk...very annoying ... KILL AVRIL FUCKIN LASAGNE...

I was talking to my friend Michael the other day (likes punk)
Considering punk is the only music he ever listens too, he doesn't really know much about any other style.
The other day he says to me "Songs all sound the same these days, soon enough they're going to run out of words and just have music"
maybe i should introduce him to sfk...?

i don't agree that punk is shallow, repetative and that you will eventually grow out of it...
perhaps people with this view have only had a limited exposure to punk (in the few punk bands that commercial/non commercial radio brings to the public).
try exploring beyond the boundaries created by radio
i've been into alot of "punk" bands for about 5 years and i'm still discovering planty of bands to keep me interested in the genre

I've heard plenty of punk....not all of it is commerical and the majority is stuff that is never heard on the radio...you can grow out of it...I am living proof you can.. I'm not the expert but certain types of music you can just stop liking, like all the people that stop listening to rock and go to hip hop or hip hop to rock

Is Fugazi considered punk? An American friend of mine sent me a burnt CD with songs he likes on them. There's lots of Fugazi mp3s on it. I'll have to have a closer listen. I liked what I heard of it mostly.

i think fugazi are cosidered an offshoot of emo...
fugazi is a lot better than most punk, but still does nothing for me

fugazi have been around for years...long before emo! Sure it's an aquired taste but you might be interested to know that Fugazi are one of paul's favourite bands (and that's from the man himself!).
