Maybe we should push our wedding date forward ;D That might work. A woman in my tafe class got called for jury duty just when she has exams on, so she says she's going to get out of it through the exams. It's been awhile since I did legal studies at high school though. Where's Orange Sherbet? She might know.

my parents are both over 50 and they've never been called for jury duty. then they have friends that've been called to do it 3 or so times. it's weird like that.
bad luck, eh? it seems easy enough to get out of it though. study is a good one, or a sick relative or something.

I want them to call me to do it. It'd be fun I reckon. Plus, they pay you to do it.

They pay? Really? I'd defintely do it anyway. It's weird i've never known anyone to be called for it and in the last 2 months 3 people i know have been called. Bizarre!

I've been called up to jury duty three times!! And I had to go twice.
They pay a pittance for your time and you're stuck for the duration of the trial. It sucks.
Ways to get out of it? It's hard but you can always try saying you are out of the country or interstate (that worked). Giving advance notice and evidence of your lack of suitability works.
say you're a chief carer for a demented person...say you're just about due to go into labour...you've had a previous criminal conviction...

pittance compared to what you usually earn di, i'm sure. i think it would be kind of cool. if it's anything like it was on the simpsons, anyway.
