I thought vegans couldn't eat chocolate? the guy off idol was on celebrity Ready steady cook the other night and he ate chocolate???

im fairly sure that chocolate has animal fat in it... so i guess he isn't really a vegan .

doesn't that defeat his initial purpose though? he's pretty sexy so I think I can forgive him I'm a vegetarian. I wanted to go vegan but I love milk and chocolate too much, but if you can cheat then I'm in!

Well thats right. Whats the point of making a big deal about it and declaring yourself a vegan and then bending the rules when it suits you, and looking down on the rest of us who eat animal products?

I don't think he looks down on anyone (although some vegans/vegetarians tend to). Certain people just believe different things are wrong and some aren't, as in vegetarians who believe in being vegetarians but not necessarily being vegan, the same as I suppose a vegan can believe parts of being a vegan and not others.

while i wasnt really paying much attention I think they mentioned that the chocolate was specifically for vegetarians/vegans.......made with soy perhaps?
I could be wrong though....

Hmm soy chocolate. Well that would explain a lot. For the record, the chocolate looks the same everytime it's on the show (the same generic looking cooking chocolate wrapped in clear plastic) and it didn't look any different this time.

Generally speaking, cooking chocolate is dark chocolate and doesn't contain dairy. This is almost always the case.
