i use 0.9 beta 4. by far the best audio ripping software, does flawless rips. but i've never used it for copying CDs, just for creating MP3s, which is what it's famous for.
ahead Nero is by far the easiest program for copying CDs, you just start it up, select CD Copy and it basically does the rest.

yep, ahead Nero is the best we use it, so easy good for copying cds and making your own from mp3s, you just have to make sure it know it's a audio cd, drag and drop your mp3s and it'l will make it playable on any player..yay

I thought eac was like the standard rip program for traders - basically because it is 'Exact Audio Copy' My understanding is that it reads all the information twice and them compares it to each other so as to make sure it read the correct information, plus it informs you of any errors that have occured during the copy - so as to avoid degredation in quality of boots or to unknowingly pass on a bad copy it does take a bit of setting up though to start with - but after that with newer drive you still get reasonable rip speeds I did a quick search and there are heaps of tutorials available www.ping.be/satcp/tutorials.htmthat is from a website called 'The Coaster Factory' and their tutorials look pretty extensive I dont mind nero for most things but I have had bad experience with it when ripping from cd's that arent in top condition - plus I think there are some question marks on its ability to accurately burn image files (depending on which version you have) that said I havnt used CDex for ages - since started using eac dont use anything else - so I dont know the features and stuff of the newer versions still my vote is for EAC (like zoodboog says v0.9 beta 4)

How long is it meant to take? 20/30 seconds a song I thought was pretty decent.
Speaking of, I tried to rip Diorama last night and it just wouldn't work. I once tried to burn Neon Ballroom, and that wouldn't work either. Is it just me, or are silverchair CD's funky?

Its giving you an ASPI error isnt it, if so you will have to update your software, because its reading the data on both ur silverhcair cds

No, it just wouldn't recognise the CD was there, like the track list didn't show up in the window so I could rip them.

ey ppl
i use a program called audiograbber, its a bit tricky to configure at first, but once u got it all set up, its just a matter of entering the names of tracks and "grabbing" it
its good because it makes a copy of the track first, then "normalizing" it, meaning making sure its the correct speed, sound quality and volume, then making it into a mp3. u can also skip this if ur in a hurry but it still sounds the same.
if u want it, find it and email me at danhtb@hotmail.com so then i can email u the proper mp3 codec and serial code!

Hey katy. I use EAC for making audio files off of CDs because I have found that it never fails to give an exact copy of the song whereas other extractors can produce files with clicks, pops, etc. I have not figured out how to burn with this program yet though. If you could, it would be very handy. Have you found out how to dco this yet? If you have, would you be able to let me know? I would love to find out how to do it!
