I received an email from another sfk fan which was also sent to many other fans. Unfortunately I deleted it before finding this news story so couldn't warn anyone about it. It contains a typically stupid chain-letter type scam to get you to pass it on to people so most wouldn't be fooled, but the link is another story because they have somehow managed to use a link in the form of news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/somethingorother.stm which is identical to the links on the real site. It tells you that you can read about MSN closing or some other sensational type of story which is somewhat tempting. Luckily I was still suspicious and simply went to the BBC site and searched for "MSN". Anyway, after all that rambling I just wanted to let people know not to click on the link in the email or pass it on BBC Becomes Trojan Horse for HackersTaking advantage of the BBC's standing as the most frequently visited news site on the Internet, hackers have begun sending emails containing excerpts from BBC news stories to lure surfers to a website that takes advantage of a newly discovered virus vulnerability in Internet Explorer. According to The Register, the online British science and technology publication, the emails contain the opening paragraphs of actual BBC news stories and appear to have been sent from the British broadcaster. Each story is followed by a link reading "Read More." That site, which also appears as if it had been constructed by the BBC, contains the complete BBC story but also installs the so-called exploit code.
