New file sharing possibility?

Hello all,

I think Soulseek www.slsk.org ? might be .com or .net or all of them... is a very suitable medium for us to share non-commercially released SFK and unavailable B-Sides on.

It has a simliar layout to that of Napster, and IRC combined. It also allows you to "share only with people in my user list", which was a major flaw of AudioGalaxy where we were all just getting leeched anonymously and had no community.

If we just join the channel "somethingforkate" (no quotes) we can add each other to our share lists. That way people have to join the channel before you add them to your share list, so no community = no share.

Ok. I will have to install it again though. I used it once and whenever i searched for anything nothing came up.

How do you join certain channels?

I am still quite happy to use mIRC though. It works good, it's just that we would have to change servers because i got banned from Undernet and i don't know how to get un-banned

And it sucks because Undernet was working really good

The only problem with Soulseek is that its so busy that
I have not been able to use it in weeks and there is a second version, Soulseek Isle
SI is the same as normal Soulseek but it has its folder and registry settings
But one file downloaded in one version can only be found in that version only which is bad for resumes

I much prefer Kazza Lite and mIRC myself
Another alternative could be Further as it was made for rar live stuff, audio visual
As long as the band approves though and no released stuff is made available

I downloaded soulseek the other day and whenever I tried to use it no results came up either. Busy I guess?

OK we'll stick with IRC. I thought there was not as many on IRC nowadays since people found it too hard to understand or got sick of changing servers, being banned from servers etc (or thinking they are banned when it was "you are not authorized to use this server").


Try emailing the admin at undernet every day katy. Demand satisfaction.
