in a very cool move, tool have announced a show in canberra! ;D it's actually a less illogical choice than it may appear - Tool are VERY popular down here, and we're concert-starved as it is. the fact that it's all-ages (we have practically no all-ages stuff here) will ensure it's sold out. the exciting bit is that if my magazine gets an interview, i'm top of the list of interviewers! yay! wish me luck!!! |

i'm trying not to get my hopes up and failing dismally. my chances are rather slim, unfortunately... but we'll see. and if i don't get the interview, i'll just make up a conversation between maynard and myself ;D

heh i met maynard at a a perfect circle signing at a record store - didn't say anything to him though, was a bit taken back by the fact i was standing infront of the guy from tool. Got a bit of a presence about him, that guy. The chick bass player was cool though, we talked about Fiona Apple (it was playing in the background) and agreed she should write another album.

does anyone have the Tori Amos: Live in New York video? Tori's one of my fave artists (i worship the ground she walks on, hehe) and Maynard comes on for her encore in the video and sings a song with her, sitting at the piano. it's so adorable - he's very sweet and subdued, and intermeshes some angelic lines with Tori before hugging her and leaving. tori says at the start of the song: "So this is one of my dearest friends. This is Maynard from Tool, and uh, I call him up when I'm feeling terrible and he sings me lullabies. So I asked him to come and sing tonight." *sigh* |

Ah, I have that video...its excellent. Maynard is amazing. I heard that they had actually never met before but Tori heard he was there and got him to come and sing with her and then she says he is one of her dearest friends and all that stuff. Either way, its beautiful, and I love that song anyway, but with Maynard, its pretty much unbeatable. Aww.  |

I could have gotten mosh pit tickets if I wanted to but I got really good seats up the front instead, I'd rather really enjoy the show and not have to worry about people sticking their elbows into me, being squished and I'm pretty short too Are you going mosh dirtgirl  |
