As for Bevo... well I did enquire as to why the Bevo bashing was going on and that he'd be better at #6. Do I know my cricket or what?

hehe.......dont I look stupid with the Bevo bashing....though I did predict big things for him in an earlier post
I think it was an attitude change....he play much better in the last 2 games......or maybe it was the move to #6
Another thoery on the bonus point
SA beat NZ
SA v AUS
aus bat first hit 300 SA chase and get 299.......I think with there run rate that puts them out but.... SA dont bother chasing.....get 150 odd......they get through to the finals

Interesting... Is that because SA beat NZ three times out of 4?

thats scary!! so if SA win today, they have to make sure either they win, or Aus gets the bonus point!!
if Hansie was still in the side they could make a fortune!!
but that is so asking for trouble....the bonus point is meant to mean that games are closer.
I really think they should change the system so that instead of the winning team chasing the bonus point, it should be the losing team.....say 5 points for the win, 3 for a washout, and a bonus point if you lose, but its a close match.

What a crock of shit. What an absolute discrace. What the fuck is the game coming to? First NZ deliberately give South Africa the bonus point on Friday, then SA come out today and don't even try to win the match. That is fucking gutless play from the most immoral, pathetic excuse for a cricket team I have ever seen.
A little bit of effort wouldn't have killed them. But no. Not a single attacking shot until winning the match was out of reach. And then Pollock and Kallis try and fool us with the claim that they tried to win first. Bull fucking shit. If that was so then they gave the game away quickly. Whoops, we're 2 down. Better be careful or we might give up a bonus point.
The only possible motivation is that they wanted to play New Zealand because they beat them 3 out of 4 times. If I flipped a coin 4 times and got 3heads, that doesn't mean the coin is weighted. Fuck.
I was surprised that Hansie was in the match fixing because I always though South Africa were more trustworthy than even Australia. Silly mistake. The whole country is now littered with a lack of ethics, from apartheid to rigging cricket results. Fuck them. I have lost all respect for that bunch of tossers, and I personally will boycott the finals.
Go footy. Ansett Cup!

Couldn't agree with you more Captain BJ, I too was at the game this arvo (couldn't convince the buddies to do BDO) and was mightly unimpressed by the piss weak playing, particularly the fielding of the SA cricketers (Dipper is a wanker anybody???). Why even bother fucking turning up?
Still the last couple of overs in the first innnings were unbelievable (27 runs/over - aussies go!!).
The fucking bonus system sucks with nobs on- the way the green and gold played today they should have made the finals. In the old days it used to just enough to win matches (bit like the third ump - was the digital umpy stuck in the loo today? took ages for some of those decisions).
As for ethics in cricket; judging from todays game that is oxymoronic!! All i'm gunna say is "go kiwis go, yeah we're right behind ya" (sung to tune of candy girl, garbage here)
One last note: kaffas=LOOSERS
On a brighter note: talking footy (I mean the real, one true code here), what teams do people bag for? Personally, I'm with the navy blues...

i like the bonus point in principle, but i think it should be awarded to the losing team, not the winning one. Probably still cause problems.
I hate the stupid kiwis and Proteas, but at the end of the day i think i hate the aussies the most. its their fault they didn't make the finals.....bring the broom through now!! a wanna see wholesale changes!! bye bye waugh and waugh and warne.
As for footy, Go the MIGHTY KNIGHTS!!! Champions of Australia (...if not the world....)

Bombers Baby.
On the cricket, I look forward to seeing wholesale changes. Leave Warne in, but one Waugh is as good as gone and the other isn't far off it.
Dazza, not rubbing it in, just enquiring if you now agree we should drop Waugh?
And the bonus point system is flawed, as is the head-to-head tiebreakers. If it just goes on Net Run Rate like it used to, then winning within 40 overs has its own reward. A better NRR.

Australia tried to fuck over the Kiwis in the world cup with a go slow........so I guess all is fair.......not good cricket though!
BJ Im still defending M.Waugh but I say put him at number 4 I would like Martyn as opener!...If he doesnt work at 4 then goodbye!
Interestingly enough I think with a NRR system and not the bonus point....the table would be turned upside down!
oh and I think I asked earlier.......anyone on here play cricinfo/baggygreen fantasy cricket??....Im coming 44 out of 19000 ;D and with my double points players being Bond and Kirsten Im in the running for the money!!

Well done Dazza!!!!!!
I hope for your sake Bond recovers from his injuries and Kirsten regains his form....if you win the $5000 you should try and book s4k to play your birthday party......i was in the Test series one, and had entered the one dayers but somehow my team got deleted...it was almost impossible to connect to baggy green in the 2 weeks before entries closed....
the table wouldn't be turned, nz would be on the bottom...
if i remember rightly about the world cup - nz had already beaten us in the pool matches, but were fighting with Pakistan(?) for a spot in the Super Six. If you make the Super Six only your games against other super six teams count. So it was in Australia's interest to go slow, but still win, against Pakistan, so hopefully the loss against NZ wouldn't count in the super six.
So it seems pretty similar to what NZ did the other night...
I'm heading to the 2nd final this friday, so go the Kiwis!!! I like their style.

I think the aussie go slow was against the West Indies If I remember correctly!
Thanks Spongey!(can I call you that?)......Hopefully I can better my 21st in the ARY gold cup!.....I need Pollock to outperform Kallis....but thats a big ask!
