Maybe then it's time for us to permanently say goodbye to Dalnet? Due to the DOS attacks it's difficult for users of all kinds, veterans and newbies, to log on. Plus, if they do ban file sharing then that could be a problem.
How about moving for good to the server Catfish suggested? That is, Austnet.
Thoughts? Other ideas?

what's wrong with alternativenet? for the moment it seems ok...it's just that's we've been using that as a place instead of dalnet but if we go to austnet i'm not fussed  |

I was referring to the "file sharing" part of the sentence.
I found it difficult enough learning how to log into the stupid thing, let alone exchanging files!!!

i'm with sharky here - we need an executive decision made... I might bother trying to 'chat' again once you've got yourselves sorted out. if filesharing has been banned from dalnet then the answer on whether to move is obvious i would have thought!

/server kernel-c.nj.us.dal.net
is working for me fine on dalnet, haven't had a problem getting on there at all with it lately, though if not, apparently
/server mesra.kl.my.dal.net
works too. use 'em, people.

Melly is right about those DALnet servers - I had a spin last night and they worked fine.
