Yeah but you can't really avoid them Kristy. They're everywhere! They're the on the internet (you know, the one place you'd think you could avoid them), and they're on the streets gazing into each other's eyes while they wait for the Don't Walk sign to turn into Walk meanwhile feeling each other up as their lives depended on it. Bah.
Well yes, ditto.

it's a total non event - I agree with however said you should show your love and appreciation every day.

Well yeah, fair enough i was thinking more about friends. But i'm determined not to think about it too much because i won't be by myself, and i guess i haven't really been thinking about it like usual. Usually it enters my mind before the actual day but it hasnt much this year.

I agree with that as well, but few people actually do because few people actually realise what they have til they don't have it. I think it's a good day for couples, but i also don't like the money making side of it. But it doesn't neccessarily have to involve great amounts of money spent. I am now leaving this thread because it is making depressed already.

That's it though, so many couples don't appreciate each other as they should, so Valentine's Day allows some of us to feel special and loved, just for a bit. It's an excuse to so something nice for one another, for no real reason except that you're together and in love, and gosh darnit, I want to feel special. Bring it on!

I think there should be a singles day then to celebrate the free spirits out there... It's a good idea, but I don't think the business world could capitalize on Depressed Loners' day quite as much as they do on Valentine's day

We didn't do anything overly expensive or extravagant, just a three course picnic at three different parks in the area. It was really nice just to stop for a while, i mean, how often do we go have a picnic just for the sake of it? Valentine's Day is also abt the hope of love though, so send a valentine to someone out of the blue. a good friend or someone u admire. I know it sounds trite, but you don't need to be a couple to make the day fun

I know it sounds trite, but you don't need to be a couple to make the day fun not when you can spend the day dousing couples in jet fuel and then throwing lit matches at them.
